ORDERK. A. Swami, C. J.1. The Writ Appeal ispreferred against the interim order dated 8th August, 1995 passed by the learned single Judge in W.M.P. Nos. 9264 and 13424 of 1995 filed in W.P. 18874 of 1994. Learned single Judge has issued the following interim directions:--'Under these circumstances and for the reasons stated above, W.M.P. No. 9264 of 1995 is allowed and the respondents are directed to permit the students of the petitioner college to write the University examination to be conducted by the third respondent, i.e., the Registrar, University of Madras, in September, 1995 pending disposal of the Writ Petition. I further direct that if the period for payment of examination fee was over, the third respondent should extend the period by a week from the receipt of this order and accept the fee from the petitioner and permit the students of the petitioner college to write the University examination. No. 5/83 on the file of the First Additional Sessions Judge (Special Judge), Madurai, appellant Ramanathan, who was then a Superintendent in the Office of Central Excise (D Range) at Sivakasi, was convicted under Section 161 I.P.C. as well as under Section 5(2) read with Section 5(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months for the former offence and one year rigorous imprisonment for the latter offence, with an added fine of Rs. 500/-, in default to suffer rigorous imprisonment for three more months. The above revision has been filed by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation against the judgment of the learned District Judge, Coimbatore, dated 15.6.1986, in C.M.A. No. 66 of 1985, modifying the order of the Chairman, Taxation Appellate Committee made in Appeal No. 6/83-84/II A-6, dated 30.1.1986. The property which is the subject-matter of assessment of tax under the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act is a Cinema Theatre 'Ragam, Thanam and Pallavi' situated at door No. 3, Bungalow Road at Coimbatore, Race Course Area, Coimbatore City.
