Oral order:(Per Honble Justice Sri D.Appa Rao, President) Having perused the record, we are of the opinion that the matter can be disposed of at the stage of admission. This is an appeal preferred against the order of the District Forum in dismissing the complaint at the SR stage on the ground that it does not attract the provisions of Consumer Protection Act, 1986. The case of the complainant in brief is that the opposite parties are running a poultry where they agreed to supply chicks to be grown into fowls and on return opposite party would sell and pay the profits to him. His complaint is that they without assigning any reason, unilaterally they cancelled the agreement. He was made to spend Rs.2,00,000/- for construction of poultry sheds and bore well and also claimed Rs.1,00,000/- towards damages. This Criminal Appeal is filed by the accused officer against the judgment dated 25.11.2003 in C.C.No.48 of 2000 on the file of the III Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum- Special Judge for A.C.B. :: 1. This Criminal Appeal is directed against the judgment dated 06.12.2003 delivered in C.C. No.14 of 1995 whereby the learned Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada found the accused guilty of the offence punishable under Sections 7 and 13(2) read with 13(1)(d)(ii) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (for short "the Act"), and convicted and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and pay a fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for two months for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the Act and also sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and pay a fine of Rs.1,000/-, in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for two months for the offence punishable under Section 13(1)(d)(ii) read with 13(2) of the Act.
