Title: Registration of Genetic Counselling Centres, Genetic Laboratories and Genetic Clinics

.....to the advice of the Advisory Committee, the Appropriate Authority is satisfied that the applicant has not complied with the requirements of this Act or the rules, it shall, for reasons to be recorded in writing, reject the application for registration. (3) Every certificate of registration shall be renewed in such manner and after such period and on payment of such fees as may be prescribed. (4) The certificate of registration shall be displayed by the registered Genetic Counselling Centre, Genetic Laboratory or Genetic Clinic in a conspicuous place at its place of business. Section 20 - Cancellation or suspension of registration (1) The Appropriate Authority may suo moto, or on complaint, issue a notice to the Genetic Counselling Centre, Genetic Laboratory or Genetic Clinic to show cause why its registration should not be suspended or cancelled for the reasons mentioned in the notice. (2) If, after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard to the Genetic Counselling Centre, Genetic Laboratory or Genetic Clinic and having regard to the advice of the Advisory Committee, the Appropriate Authority is satisfied that there has been a breach of the provisions of this.....

Title: Corporation to Be Lessee or Tenant

(1) Where any property is held by the company in relation to its power transmission system under any lease-or right of tenancy, the Corporation shall, on and from the appointed day, be deemed to have become the lessee or tenant, as the case may be, in respect of such property as if the lease or tenancy in relation to such property had been granted to the Corporation and thereupon all the rights under such lease or tenancy shall be deemed to have been transferred to and vested in, the Corporation. (2) On the expiry of the term of any lease or tenancy-referred to in sub-section (1), such lease or tenancy shall, if so desired by the Corporation, be renewed on the same terms and conditions on which the lease or tenancy was held by the company immediately before the appointed day.

.....be laid before the Nagar Panchayat or the Council at any monthly meeting, the Chairperson shall, instead of calling the meeting, give notice of the fact to each Counciller three days before the date which is fixed for the monthly meeting. (3) The Chairperson, or in his absence the Vice-Chairperson may, on a written requisition of not less than one-half of the total number of Councillors, call a special meeting. (4) If the Chairperson or the Vice-Chairperson, as the case may be, fails to call a special meeting within fifteen days after any such requisition has been made, the meeting may be called by the Councillors who made the requisition. Section 50 - Chairperson of meeting If at a meeting neither the Chairperson nor the Vice-Chairperson is present, the Councillors present shall elect one of them to preside over the meeting and such Councillor shall perform all the duties and exercise all the powers of the Chairperson of Nagar Panchayat or a Council when presiding over a meeting: Provided that no candidate for election to the office of the Chairperson or the Vice-Chairperson shall preside at such election. In section 368 of the principal act, after clause 9c0 the following shall be added, namely:- "(d) until the first statutes and the Ordinances in relation to the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati are made under this Act the Statutes and Ordinance of the Indian Institute of technology, Kharagpur as in force immediately before the commencement of the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1994 shall apply to the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati with the necessary modification and adaptations in so far as they re not inconsistent with the provisions of this act. Explanation-The reference in clause (a) this section to the commencement of this act shall be construed in relation to the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati as the reference to the date on which the provisions of the institutes of technology (Amendment) Act, 1994 come into force."

Title: Authority for Removal of Human Organs from Bodies Sent for Post-mortem Examination for Medico-legal or Pathological Purposes

Where the body of a person has been sent for post-mortem examination (a) for medico-legal purposes by reason of the death of such person having been caused by accident or any other unnatural cause; or (b) for pathological purposes, the person competent under this Act to give authority for the removal of any human organ from such dead body, if he has reason to believe that such human organ will not be required for the purpose for which such body has been sent for post-mortem examination, authorise the removal, for therapeutic purposes, of that human organ of the deceased person provided that he is satisfied that the deceased person had not expressed., before his death, any objection to any of the human organs being used, for therapeutic purposes after his death or, where he had granted an authority for the use of any of his human organs for therapeutic purposes after his death, such authority had not been revoked by him before his death.
