Provincial Insolvency Act, 1920 Section 6

Title: Act of Insolvency

.....the amount due under the decree or order and require the debtor to pay the same or to furnish security for the payment of such amount to the satisfaction of the creditor or his agent; (d) specify for its compliance a period of not less than one month after its service on the debtor or, if it is to be served on a debtor residing whether permanently or temporarily, outside India, such period (being not less than one month) as may be specified by the order of the District Court granting leave for the service of such notice; (e) state the consequences of non-compliance with the notice. (4) No insolvency notice shall be deemed to be invalid by reason only that the sum specified therein as the amount due under the decree or order exceeds the amount actually due, unless the debtor, within the period specified in the insolvency notice for its compliance, gives notice to the creditor that the sum specified in the insolvency notices does not correctly represent the amount due under the decree or order : Provided that if the debtor does not give any such notice as aforesaid, he shall be deemed to have complied with the insolvency notice if, within the period specified therein for.....

Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920 Section 6

Title: Resistance to the Taking Measurements, Etc

State: Central

Year: 1920

(1) If any person who under this Act is required to allow his measurements or photograph to be taken resists or refuses to allow the taking of the same, it shall be lawful to use all means necessary to secure the taking thereof. (2) Resistance to or refusal to allow taking of measurements or photograph under this Act shall be deemed to be an offence under section 186 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (45 of 1860).

Charitable & Religious Trusts Act 1920 Section 6

Title: Failure of Trustee to Comply with Order Under Section 5

State: Central

Year: 1920

If a trustee without reasonable excuse fails to comply with an order made under sub-section (5) of section 5, such trustee shall, without prejudice to any other penalty or liability which he may incur under any law for the time being in force, be deemed to have committed a breach of trust affording ground for a suit under the provisions of section 92 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908; and any such suit may, so far as it is based on such failure, be instituted without the previous consent of the Advocate General.

Provincial Insolvency Act, 1920 Part VI

.....was according to law, may call for the case and pass such order with respect thereto as it thinks fit: Provided, further, that any such person aggrieved by a decision of the District Court on appeal from a decision of a subordinate Court under section 4 may appeal to the High Court on any of the grounds mentioned in sub-section (1) of section 100 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908). (2) Any such person aggrieved by any such decision or order of a District Court as is specified in Schedule I, come to or made otherwise than in appeal from an order made by a subordinate Court, may appeal to the High Court. (3) Any such person aggrieved by any other order made by a District Court otherwise than in appeal from an order made by a subordinate Court may appeal to the High Court by leave of the District Court or of the High Court. (4) The periods of limitation for appeals to the District Court and to the High Court under this section shall be thirty days and ninety days, respectively.

Indian Securities Act, 1920 Section 6

Title: Holding of Government Securities by Holders of Public Offices

.....holder of the office to the succeeding holder of the office on and from the date on which the latter takes charge of the office. (3) When the holder of the office indorses to a third party a Government security made or indorses as aforesaid, he shall subscribe the indorsement with his name and the name of the office. (4) A writing on a Government security now or heretofore standing in the name of the holder of a public office, whereby the security has been or was made or indorsed payable to or to the order of the holder of the office by the name of the office, shall not be deemed to be or to have been invalid by reason only of the security having been so made or indorsed. (5) This section applies as well to an office of which there are two or more joint holders as to an office of which there is a single holder.

Title: Dissolution and Transfer of Property of Joint War Committee

Upon the nomination of the first members of the Society and the appointment of the Managing Body-- (a) the Committee shall be dissolved; (b) all property, moveable or immovable, of or belonging to the Committee shall vest in the Society and shall be applied by the Managing Body to the objects and purposes hereinafter set out; and (c) all the debts and liabilities of the Committee shall be trnasferred to the Society, and shall thereafter be discharged and satisfied by it out of the aforesaid property, and each and every member of the Committee shall be wholly discharged therefrom.

Aligarh Muslim University Act, 1920 Schedule 1

.....be, involves moral turpitude : Provided that nothing in this clause shall be deemed to affect any rights accruing to an officer appointed on contract in accordance with the terms of such contract. (3)(a) Notwithstanding anything contained in the terms of the contract of service of a teacher, the Executive Council shall be entitled to dismiss a teacher on grounds of misconduct after following the procedure specified in clause (c), but save as aforesaid, the Executive Council shall not be entitled to determine the employment of a teacher save for good cause and after giving three months' notice in writing or payment of three months' salary in lieu of such notice. (b) The determination of a teacher's employment shall require a two-thirds majority of the members of the Executive Council present and voting. (c) The Vice-Chancellor may suspend a teacher against whom any misconduct is alleged and shall report the case to the next meeting of the Executive Council, but before any orders for dismissal are passed, the teacher shall be informed of the allegations made against him and shall be given a reasonable opportunity to makesuch representation to the Executive Council or to.....
