Registration Act, 1908 Section 89

Title: Copies of Certain Orders, Certificates and Instruments to Be Sent to Registering Officers and Filed

.....purpose of this Act. (b) the word "agriculturist" shall have the meaning assigned to it in sub-section (3) of section 5 of the Rajasthan Tenancy Act, 1955 (Rajasthan Act 3 of 1955). 12 [13 [14 [Tamil Nadu: After sub-section (4), insert the following sub-section, namely:-- "(5) Every officer granting, a certificate of sale of immovable property under the Madras Co-operative Land Mortgage Banks Act, 1934, or the rules made under the Madras Co-operative Societies Act, 1932, shall send a copy of such certificate to the registering officer within the local limits of whose jurisdiction the whole or any part of the immovable property comprised in such certificate is situate, and such registering officer shall file the copy in his Book No. 1." After sub-section (5), insert as under: "(6) Every officer in charge of collection of the loans mentioned in subsection (1), or sub-section (3) shall send to the registering officer to whom a copy of the order under sub-section (1), or a copy of instrument or order under subsection (3) has been sent, an intimation of the discharge of such loans. Such intimation shall be in such form as may be prescribed and the registering officer.....

Registration Act, 1908 Section 61

Title: Endorsements and Certificate to Be Copied and Document Returned

.....In section 61, in sub-section (2), after the words "returned" the words "in the manner prescribed by rules" shall be inserted. 5 Kerala: For sub-section (1) of section 61 substitute the following:-- "(1) The endorsements and certificate referred to and mentioned in sections 59 and 60 shall thereupon be copied into the true copy of the document presented along with the document and the true copy of the map or plan (if any) mentioned in section 21 shall also be filed alongwith the true copy of the document." Special Marriage Act, 1954 Section 48

Title: Transmission of Copies of Entries in Marriage Records

Every Marriage Officer in a State shall send to Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages of that State at such intervals and in such form as may be prescribed, a true copy of all entries made by him in the Marriage Certificate Book since the last of such intervals, and, in the case of Marriage Officers outside the territories to which this Act extends, the true copy shall be sent to such authority as the Central Government may specify in this behalf.

Indian Evidence Act 1872 Section 76

Title: Certified Copies of Public Documents

Every1public officer having the custody of a public document, which any person has a right to inspect, shall give that person on demand a copy of it on payment of the legal fees therefor, together with a certificate written at the foot of such copy that it is true copy of such document or part thereof, as the case may be and such certificate shall be dated and subscribed by such officer with his name and his official title, and shall be sealed, whenever such officer is authorised by law to make use of a seal; and such copies so certified shall be called certified copies. Explanation.-Any officer who, by the ordinary course of official duty, is authorized to deliver such copies, shall be deemed to have the custody of such documents within the meaning of this section. ___________________________ 1. A village-officer in the Punjab has been declared for the purposes of this Act to be a public officer having the custody of a public document-see the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887 (17 of 1887), section, 151 (2).

(1) After the balance sheet and the income and expenditure account have been laid before a corporation at an annual general meeting as aforesaid, there shall be filed with the Registrar within forty days from the day on which each of the annual general meetings referred to in section 26 is held, three copies of the balance sheet certified to be true copies by the auditors of the corporation, and the auditors' report in so far as it relates to the balance sheet. (2) If the annual general meeting of a corporation before which a balance sheet is laid as aforsaid does not adopt the balance sheet, a statement of that fact and of the reasons therefore shall be annexed to the balance sheet and to the copies thereof required to be filed with the Registrar.

Chit Funds Act, 1982 Section 10

Title: Copies of Chit Agreement to Be Given to Subscribers

(1) A foreman shall, as soon as may be after he has obtained the certificate of commencement under sub-section (2) of section 9, but not later than the date of the first draw of the chit, furnish to every subscriber, a copy of the chit agreement certified to be a true copy. (2) A foreman shall, within fifteen days after the close of the month in which the draw for the first instalment of the chit is held, file with the Registrar, a certificate to the effect that the provisions of sub-section (1) have been complied with.

Hire-purchase Act, 1972 [Repealed] Section 23

Title: Obligation of Owner to Supply Copies and Information

.....date upon which each future instalment is to become payable, and the amount of each such instalment. (3) Where there is a failure without reasonable cause to carry out the duties imposed by sub-section (1), or sub-section (2), then, while the default continues,-- (a) the owner shall not be entitled to enforce the agreement against the hirer or to enforce any contract of guarantee relating to the agreement, or to enforce any right to recover the goods from the hirer; and (b) no security given by the hirer in respect of money payable under the agreement or given by a surety in respect of money payable under such a contract of guarantee as aforesaid shall be enforceable against the hirer or the surety by any holder thereof, and, if the default continues for a period of two months, the owner shall be punishable with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees. (4) Nothing in sub-section (3) shall be construed as affecting the right of a third party to enforce against the owner or hirer or against both the owner and the hirer any charge or encumbrance to which the goods covered by the hire-purchase agreement are subject.
