THE TRIPURA EXCISE ACT, 1987 THE TRIPURA EXCISE ACT, 1987 An Act to consolidate und amend the Laws relating to duties of excise in Tripura . Be it enacted by the Tripura Legislative Assembly in the Thirty Eighth year of the Republic of India as follows :- CHAPTER I Preliminary 1. Short title, Extent and Commencement - (1) This Act may be called the Tripura Excise Act, 1987. (2) It extends to the whole of Tripura. (3) It shall come into force immediately. 2. Definitions - (1) In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context, (a) "beer" includes ale, stout, porter and other fermented liquor made from malt; and such other substances as the state Government may specify on this behalf.
