.....or (b) by defiling any place of worship, or otherwise, intentionally insults the religion, or wounds the religious feelings of, any person; or (c) attempts to commit suicide, and in such attempt does any act towards the commission of such offence; or (d) being below the rank of subordinate officer, when off duty, appears without proper authority, in or about camp, or in or about, or when going to, or returning from, any town or bazaar, carrying a rifle, sword or other offensive weapon; or (e) directly or indirectly accepts or obtains, or agrees to accept, or attempts to obtain, for himself or for any other person, any gratification as a motive or reward for procuring the enrolment of any person, or leave of absence, promotion or any other advantage or indulgence for any person in the service; or (f) commits any offence against the property or person of any inhabitant of, or resident in, the country in which he is serving, shall, on conviction by a Force Court, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned.

.....subject to this Act who deserts or attempts to desert the service shall, on conviction by a Force Court,-- (a) if he commits the offence when on active duty or when under orders for active duty, be liable to suffer death or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned; and (b) if he commits the offence under any other circumstances, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned. (2) Any person subject to this Act who knowingly harbours any such deserter shall, on conviction by a Force Court, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned. (3) Any person subject to this Act who, being cognizant of any desertion or attempt at desertion of a person subject to this Act, does not forthwith give notice to his own or some other superior officer, or take any steps in his power to cause such person to be apprehended, shall, on conviction by a Force Court, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned. After section 17 of the principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely; -- "17A. Public issue and listing of securities referred to in sub-clause (ie) if clause(h) of section 2 (1) Without prejudice to the provisions contained in this Act or any . other law for the time being in force, no securities of the nature referred to in subclause (ie) of clause (h) of section 2 shall be offered to the public or listed on any recognised stock exchange unless the issuer fulfils such eligibility criteria and complies with such other requirements as may be specified by regulations made by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. (2) Every issuer referred to in sub-clause (ie) of clause (h) of section 2 intending to offer the certificates or instruments referred therein to the public shall make an application, before issuing the offer document to the public, to one or more recognised stock exchanges for permission for such certificates or instruments to be listed on the stock exchange or each such stock exchange. PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT SYSTEMS ACT, 2007 PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT SYSTEMS ACT, 2007 51 OF 2007 An Act to provide for the regulation and supervision of payment systems in India and to designate the Reserve Bank of India as the authority for that purpose and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER 1 : Preliminary SECTION 1 : Short title extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference to the commencement in any such provision of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision. SECTION 2 : Definitions (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "bank" means,- (i) a bank included in the Second Schedule to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934); (ii) a post office savings bank; (iii) a banking company.....

Section 34 - Act not to apply to stock exchanges or clearing corporations of stock exchanges Nothing contained in this Act shall apply to stock exchanges or the clearing corporations of the stock exchanges. Section 35 - Certain persons deemed to be public servants Every officer of the Reserve Bank who has been entrusted with any power under this Act, shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code(45 of 1860). Section 36 - Protection of action taken in good faith No suit or other legal proceedings shall lie against the Central Government, the Reserve Bank, or any officer thereof for any damage caused or likely to be caused by anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act, any regulations, order or direction made or given thereunder.
