Title: Appointment to Part-time Posts

(1) There shall be a Board of Appointment for selecting persons for appointment as part-time Lecturers, Assistant Professors, Readers and Professors in the University. The Board shall consist of,- (i) the Vice-Chancellor- ex-officio Chairman; (ii) two experts nominated by the Chancellor; (iii) the Head of the Department concerned; (iv) the Secretary to the Government of Karnataka in charge of Higher Education or his nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary; (v) the Registrar- who shall be the Member-Secretary: (vi) The Director of Social Welfare or his nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Director; (vii) The Director of Backward Classes and minorities, or his nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Director. (viii) The Director of Women and Child Development or her nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Director: Provided that for appointment to any post in the Law Colleges the two experts on the Board shall be the Advocate General in Karnataka and the Secretary to Government of Karnataka, Department of Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation. .....the time within which assessment may be made, shall apply to an assessment made on the assessee or any person in consequence of, or to give effect to, any finding, direction or order made under sections 32, 32A, 34 and 35 or any judgement or order made by any Court: Provided further that nothing in this section shall apply to any assessment proceeding which is pending prior to the commencement of the Karnataka Agricultural Income Tax (Amendment) Act, 1987. (3) Where an assessment under this section is not concluded within the time specified in sub-section (1), the total and taxable income declared by an assessee in the annual return shall be deemed to have been assessed for that year on the basis of the said return2[and the provisions of this Act relating to agricultural income escaping assessment, payment, recovery, appeal and revision shall mutatis mutandis apply to such deemed assessment] and the tax so assessed shall be payable by the assessee.] ________________________ 1. Title: Determination of the Times at Which Acts or Provisions of Acts Extended or Applied by Government to Certain Places Shall Come into Force

When, by an Act, the Government is empowered to extend or apply an Act or any provision of an Act, to any place in, or to any portion of the State, the Government may, in any order extending or applying such Act or provision or in any subsequent order, notify the time or provision or in any subsequent order, notify the time at which the same shall come into force in the place or portion of the State to which it is so extended or applied; and unless it is otherwise provided in the Act, the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette from time to time, postpone the time at which the Act or provision shall come into force in such place or portion of the State, to cancel the order for extending or applying the same to such place or portion of the State: Provided that no order postponing the time at which an Act or provisions shall come into force or cancelling the order for extending or applying the same shall be made after the Act or provision has actually come into force in the place or portion of the State to which such order relates.

Title: Time of Sale of Goods

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Sale of Goods Act, 1930 (Central Act 3 of 1930), for the purpose of this Act, and subject to subsection (2), the sale of goods shall be deemed to have taken place at the time of transfer of title or possession or incorporation of the goods in the course of execution of any works contract whether or not there is receipt of payment: Provided that where a dealer issues a tax invoice in respect of such sale within fourteen days from the date of the sale, the sale shall be deemed to have taken place at the time the invoice is issued. (2) Where, before the time applicable in sub-section (1), the dealer selling the goods issues a tax invoice in respect of such sale or receives payment in respect of such sale, the sale shall, to the extent that it is covered by the invoice or payment, be deemed to have taken at the time the invoice is issued or the payment is received. (3) The Commissioner may on an application of any dealer exempt such dealer subject to such conditions as he may specify, from the time specified in sub- section (1).

Title: Time Limit for Making Deposit and Consequence of Incorrect Particulars in Application for Deposit

(1) No rent and other charges deposited under section 17 shall be considered to have been validly deposited under that section, unless the deposit is made within twenty-one days of the time referred to in section 16 for payment of the rent and other charges. (2) No such deposit shall be considered to be validly made, if the tenant wilfully makes any false statement in his application for depositing the rent and other charges, unless the landlord has withdrawn the amount deposited before the date of filing an application for the recovery of possession of the premises from the tenant. (3) If the rent and other charges is deposited within the time mentioned in sub-section (1) and does not cease to be a valid deposit for the reason mentioned in sub-section (2), the deposit shall constitute payment of rent and other charges to the landlord, as if the amount deposited had been validly tendered.
