.....of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.--(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings (Amendment) Act, 2003. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of March, 2003. 2. Amendment of section 1.--In the Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings Act, 2001 (11of 2001) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) in sub-section (3) of section 1, for the figures and word "31st March, 2003", the figures and word "31st March, 2004" shall be substituted. 3. Repeal and saving.--(1) The Kerala Stay of Eviction Proceedings (Amendment) Ordinance, 2003 (1 of 2003), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or deemed to have been done or any action taken or deemed to have been taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act. Title: Bar and Limitation to Certain Proceedings

(1) No suit, prosecution or other proceeding shall lie against any officer or servant of the Government, for any act done or purported to be done under this Act without the previous sanction of the Government. (2) No officer or servant of the State Government shall be liable in respect of any such act in any civil or criminal proceeding if the act was done in good faith in the course of the execution of duties or the discharge of the functions imposed by or under this Act. (3) No suit shall be instituted against the State Government and no suit, prosecution or other proceeding shall be instituted against any officer or servant of the State Government in respect of any act done or purporting to be done under this Act, unless the suit, prosecution or other proceeding is instituted within six months from the date of the act complained of.
