Bangalore City Civil Court Act, 1979 Chapter III

.....(3), the City Civil Court shall, during the period of vacation in summer be deemed to be closed for the purposes of section 4 of the Limitation Act, 1963 (Central Act 36 of 1963). ______________________ 1. Section 12 - Construction of references to District Court, the Court of the Civil Judge, Munsiff's Court, District Judge, Civil Judge and Munsiff in other laws (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any law but except where the context otherwise requires any reference in any law for the time being in force in the city of Bangalore, to District Court, Court of Civil Judge or Munsiff's Court or to District Judge, Civil Judge or Munsiff shall in the city of Bangalore be construed as a reference to the City Civil Court or a Judge of the City Civil Court, as the case may be, and such law shall, have effect accordingly. (2) Where immediately prior to the appointed date, under any law in force in the city of Bangalore,1[the Jurisdiction and powers] of a tribunal or any other authority,- (a) are exercised by the District Court or the Court.....

Bangalore City Civil Court Act, 1979 Section 19

Title: Special Provisions for Transfer of Pending Suits,etc.

.....High Court shall be the Judge or Court to which the said suit, appeal or proceeding shall stand transferred under this section and the decision of the High Court shall be final.] (10) For removal of doubts it is hereby declared that the provisions of the Karnataka Civil Rules of Practice, 1967 and other rules regulating the practice and procedure of the Civil Courts, applicable to the Civil Courts in the State of Karnataka on the appointed date shall, until they are amended or altered, mutatis mutandis apply to the City Civil Court. (11) The local limits of the Jurisdiction of the Court of Small Causes established under section 3 of the Karnataka Small Causes Courts Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1964) for the City of Bangalore as defined in the City of Bangalore Municipal Corporation Act, 1949 (Mysore Act LXIX of 1949), shall, as from the appointed date be the limits of the City of Bangalore as defined in this Act. ______________________ 1. Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Chapter XXI

.....of the Corporation, the standing committee or Commissioner or registration in the office of the Corporation is necessary for the doing of any act, and if such act is done without such licence or permission or registration then,- (a) the Commissioner may, by notice, require the person so doing such act to alter, remove, or as far as practicable restore to its original state the whole or any part of any property, movable or immovable, public or private, affected thereby within a time to be specified in the notice. (b) the Commissioner or any officer duly authorised by him may also enter into or on any building or land where such act is done and take all such steps as may be necessary to prevent the continuance of such act; and (c) if no penalty has been specially provided in this Act for so doing such act, the person so doing it shall be liable on conviction by a magistrate to a fine not exceeding fifty rupees for every such offence. Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Section 355

Title: Effect of Absorption of Panchayat Area into Transitional Area

.....of section 4 and notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or in the Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 but subject to the provisions of section 4 of this Act, with effect from the date on which such area is included in a transitional area, the following consequences shall ensue, namely:-- (a) the Grama Panchayat shall cease to exist and the Zilla Panchayat orTaluk Panchayat within the jurisdiction of which such area is situated shall cease to have jurisdiction over such area; (b) the un-expended balance of the Grama Panchayat fund and theproperty (including arrears of rates, taxes and fees) belonging to the Grama Panchayat; and all rights and powers which, prior to such notification vested in the Grama Panchayat shall subject to all charges and liabilities affecting the same, vest in the Town Panchayat of the transitional area; (c) any appointment, notification, notice, tax, order, scheme, license, permission, rule, bye-law or form made, issued, imposed or granted under the Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 immediately before the said date in respect of the said local area shall continue in force and be deemed to have been made, issued, imposed or granted under.....
