Title: The National Oilseeds and Vegetable Oils Development Board

Section 5 - Allowances of members The members of the Board shall receive such allowances as may be fixed by the Central Government. Section 6 - Officers of the Board and other staff (1) The Central Government shall appoint a person possessing such technical qualifications and practical experience in oilseeds development as may be prescribed, as the Executive Director to the Board. (2) The Executive Director shall be the chief executive of the Board and shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be prescribed. (3) The Central Government shall appoint a Secretary to the Board who shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be prescribed or as may be delegated to him by the Board or the Executive Director. (4) The Executive Director and the Secretary shall be entitled to such salary and allowancesand shall be subject to such conditions of service in respect of leave, pension, provident fund andother matters as may, from time to time, be fixed by the Central Government. Jute Manufactures Development Council Act, 1983 Complete Act

.....Manufacturers Development Council established under section 3; (c) "jute manufacture" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in the Jute Manufactures Cess Act, 1983; (d) "member" means a member of the Council and includes the Chairman, (e) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; 2 [(f) "year" means the year commencing on the 1 st day of April and ending on the 31st day of March next following]. In Section 3 of the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya (Members' Pension) Act, 1977 - (i) The following shall be inserted as first proviso to sub-section (i) namely :- "Provided that in the event of early holding of elections where any person has served as such member for a period falling short of five years he shall always be deemed to have served for a complete period of five years if such a period falls short by not more than three months. (ii) in the existing proviso to sub-section (1) between the words "Provided" and "that" in the word "further" shall be inserted. STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASON At present, under the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya (Members' Pension) Act, 1977 only a person who has served as a member of the Legislative Assembly for a period of not less than five years is untitled to a pension under the said Act. It is considered expedient not to deprive a member of this pension benefit whose service as a Member falls short of five years by a period not exceeding three.....
