.....or such other member or such officer of the Authority as may be generally or specially empowered in this behalf by the Authority and such contracts or class of contracts as may be specified in the regulations shall be sealed with the common seal of the Authority: Provided that no contract exceeding such value or amount as the Central Government may, from time to time, by order, fix in this behalf shall be made unless it has been previously approved by the Authority: Provided further that no contract for the acquisition or sale of immovable property or for the lease of any such property for aterm exceeding thirty years and no other contract exceeding such value or amount as the Central Government may, from time to time, by order, fix in this behalf shall be made unless it has been previously approved by the Central Government. Title: Applications Not to Be Admitted Unless Other Remedies Exhausted

.....(1), a person shall be deemed to have availed of all the remedies available to him under the relevant service rules as to redressal of grievances, (a) if a final order has been made by the Government or other authority or officer or other person competent to pass such order under such rules, rejecting any appeal preferred or representation made by such person in connection with the grievance; or (b) where no final order has been made by the Government or other authority or officer or other person competent to pass such order with regard to the appeal preferred or representation made by such person, if a period of six months from the date on which such appeal was preferred or representation was made has expired. (3) For the purposes of sub-sections (1) and (2), any remedy available to an applicant by way of submission of a memorial to the President or to the Governor of a State or to any other functionary shall not be deemed to be one of the remedies which are available unless the applicant had elected to submit such memorial.

(1) The Government may at any time either suo-motu or at the instance of the local authority concerned or of any person interested include new lands in the list. (2) Before including such new lands the Government shall publish in the prescribed manner a draft notification proposing such inclusion together with a notice specifying a date on or after which such draft will be taken into consideration, and shall consider any objection or suggestion which may be received in respect of such draft from the local authority concerned or any person interested before the date so specified.

.....the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS -In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Authority" means the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority established under Section 4-; (b) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Authority; (c) "export" means taking out of India by land, sea or air; (d) "exporter" means a person registered as an exporter of Scheduled products under Section 12-; (e) "member" means a member of the Authority and includes the Chairman; (f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act ; (g) "processing" in relation to Scheduled products includes the process of preservation of such products such as canning, freezing, drying, salting, smoking, peeling or filleting and any other method of processing which the Authority may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf; (h) "regulations" means regulations made under this Act ; (i) "Scheduled product" means any of the agricultural or processed food products included in the Schedule.
