THE BOMBAY AGRICULTURAL DEBTORS RELIEF ACT, 1947 THE BOMBAY AGRICULTURAL DEBTORS RELIEF ACT, 1947 Bombay Act No.XXVIII of 1947, [27th May 1947] An Act to consolidate and amend the law for the Relief of Agricultural Debtors in the Province of Bombay. WHEREAS it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law for the relief of agricultural debtors in the Province of Bombay and for certain other purposes specified herein; It is hereby enacted as follows: CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND EXTENT (l) This Act may be called the Bombay Agricultural Debtors Relief Act, 1947. [13th January 1948] PREAMBLE An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to the control of rents andrepairs of certain premises, of rates of hotels and lodging houses and of evictions. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend and consolidate the law relating to the control of rents and repairs of certain premises, of rates of hotels and lodging house and of evictions ; It is hereby enacted as follows:- Section 1 - Short title This Act may be called the Bombay Rents, Hotel and Lodging House Rates Control Act, 1947. Proceedings in arbitration.---The proceedings in arbitration under this Chapter shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Arbitration Act, 1940 (Central Act X of 1940) in so far as they are applicable and the powers which are exercisable by a Civil Court under the said provisions shall be exercisable by the Industrial Tribunal. 10E. Special case may be stated to Industrial Tribunal.--The arbitrator may refer any question of law arising before him in any proceeding under this Act to the Industrial Tribunal for its decision. Any award made by the arbitrator shall be in accordance with such decision. 10F. Award by arbitrator.--The arbitrator shall, after hearing the parties concerned, make an award which shall be signed by him. 10G.
