Karnataka Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976 Section 7A

Title: Self-assessment in the Case of Certain Employers

.....in whose case the total amount of tax deducted is less than twenty five thousand upees on the basis of the return submitted in accordance with sub-section (1) of Section 6 within the time specified therein, without requiring his presence or production of books of accounts. (2) Where before completion of self-assessment, return submitted under sub-section (1) is found to involve mistake apparent on record, the assessing suthority shal afford opportunity to the employer to subit revised return or to rectify such mistake. (3) Self-assessment under sub-section (1) shall not be made in respect of an employer for any year if.-- (i) the return filed for any year is incomplete or incorrect or defective, save for mistakes apparent on record; (ii) it is found that the employer has attempted to evade any tax, for that year. (4) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Commissioner shall, within a period of seventy-five days from the close of the year to which the assessment relates, notify selection of cases for the purpose of scrutiny in entirety of the assessment records and in respect of such cases so found warranted, shall directed the assessing authority.....

.....Explanation I.--A land shall be deemed to be benefited notwithstanding that the benefit is not enjoyed, provided such non-enjoyment is due solely to action or inaction on the part of that person or persons interested in such land. Karnataka Rent Control Act, 2001 Section 29

Title: Right to Recover Immediate Possession of Premises to Accrue to Members of the Armed Forces, Etc.

.....member of any of the armed forces and has a period of less than one year preceding the date of his retirement and the premises let out by him his spouse or his dependent son or daughter are required for his own use after his retirement, he may, at any time, within a period of one year before the date of his retirement, apply to the Court for recovering immediate possession of such premises. (3) Where the landlord referred to in sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) has let out more than one premises, it shall be open to him his spouse or his dependent son or daughter to make an application under that sub-section in respect of only one of the premises chosen by him. Explanation.- For the purposes of this section, "armed forces" means an armed force of the Union constituted under an Act of Parliament and includes a member of the police force constituted under the Karnataka Police Act, 1963.

Title: Protection of Tenants Against Eviction
