Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 Chapter III

Title: General Principles of Food Safety

.....safety standards and practices; (b) carry out risk management which shall include taking into account the results of risk assessment, and other factors which in the opinion of the Food Authority are relevant to the matter under consideration and where the conditions are relevant, in order to achieve the general objectives of regulations; (c) where in any specific circumstances, on the basis of assessment of available information, the possibility of harmful effects on health is identified but scientific uncertainty persists, provisional risk management measures necessary to ensure appropriate level of health protection may be adopted, pending further scientific information for a more comprehensive risk assessment; (d) the measures adopted on the basis of clause (c) shall be proportionate and no more restrictive of trade than is required to achieve appropriate level of health protection, regard being had to technical and economic feasibility and other factors regarded as reasonable and proper in the matter under consideration; (e) the measures adopted shall be reviewed within a reasonable period of time, depending on the nature of the risk to life or health being.....

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006 Complete Act

.....made by the Central Government under this Act; (zh) "regulations" means regulations made by the Board under this Act; (zi) "restrictive trade practice" means a trade practice which has, or may have, the effect of preventing, distorting or restricting competition in any manner and in particular,- (i) which tends to obstruct the flow of capital or resources into the stream of production, or (ii) which tends to bring about manipulation of prices, or conditions of delivery or to affect the flow of supplies in the market relating to petroleum, petroleum products or natural gas or services in such manner as to impose on the consumers unjustified costs or restrictions; (zj) "retail outlet" means filling station where one or more dispensing pumps have been provided for sale of motor spirit, high speed diesel, auto-liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas and includes distributorship for liquefied petroleum gas or dealership for superior kerosene oil or CNG stations; (zk) "retail service obligations" means obligations of dealers and distributors for maintaining supplies to consumers throughout the specified working hours and of specified quality, quantity and display of maximum.....

Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 Chapter 1

.....agency specified in section 11; (k) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (l) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (m) "Scheduled Areas" means the Scheduled Areas referred to in clause (1) of article 244 of the Constitution; (n) "sustainable use" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in clause (o) of section 2 of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 (18 of 2003); (o) "other traditional forest dweller" means any member or community who has for at least three generations prior to the 13th day of December, 2005 primarily resided in and who depend on the forest or forests land for bona fide livelihood needs. .....forest dwellers, as the case may be, which are not mentioned in clauses (a) to (k) but excluding the traditional right of hunting or trapping or extracting a part of the body of any species of wild animal; (m) right to in situ rehabilitation including alternative land in cases where the Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers have been illegally evicted or displaced from forest land of any description without receiving their legal entitlement to rehabilitation prior to the 13th day of December, 2005. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Forest (Conservation) Act,1980 (69 of 1980), the Central Government shall provide for diversion of forest land for the following facilities managed by the Government which involve felling of trees not exceeding seventy-five trees per hectare, nemely:-- (a) schools; (b) dispensary or hospital; (c) anganwadis; (d) fair price shops; (e) electric and telecommunication lines; (f) tanks and other minor water bodies; (g) drinking water supply and water pipelines; (h) water or rain water harvesting structures; (i) minor irrigation canals; (j) non-conventional source of energy; (k) skill upgradation or.....
