Title: Cognizance of Offences

(1) No Court shall take cognizance of any offence punishable under Sections 79 except with the previous sanction of the Joint Commissioner, and no Court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the First Class, shall try any such offence. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), all offences punishable under Sections 79 shall be cognizable and bailable.

Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Section 80

Title: Validity of Proceedings

.....acting as councillor, or as the president or presiding authority of a general meeting or a chairman or member of a committee appointed under this Act, shall be deemed to vitiate any act or proceeding of the municipal council or of any such committee, as the case may be, in which such person has taken part, whenever the majority who were parties to such act or proceeding, were entitled to act. (2) No resolution of a municipal council or of any committee appointed under this Act shall be deemed invalid on account of any irregularity in the service of notice, upon any councillor or member provided that the proceedings of the municipal council or committee, were not prejudicially affected by such irregularity. Title: Payment of Interest

When the amount of such compensation is not paid or deposited on or before taking possession of the land, the Collector shall pay the amount awarded with interest thereon at the rate of nine per cent. per annum from the time of so taking possession until it shall have been so paid or deposited: Provided that if such compensation or any part thereof is not paid or deposited within a period of one year from the date on which possession is taken, interest at the rate of fifteen per cent. per annum shall be payable from the date or expiry of the said period of one year on the amount of compensation or part thereof which has not been paid or deposited before the date of such expiry.

Coast Guard Act, 1978 Section 80

Title: Documents Exempted from Production

(1) Nothing in section 79 shall be deemed to affect the operation of sections 123 and 124 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, or to apply to any letter, post card, telegram or other document in the custody of the postal or telegraph authorities. (2) If any document in such custody is, in the opinion of any Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Court of Session or High Court, wanted for the purpose of any Coast Guard Court, such Magistrate or Court may require the postal or telegraph authorities, as the case may be, to deliver such document, to such person as such Magistrate or Court may direct. (3) If any such document is, in the opinion of any other Magistrate or of any Commissioner of Police or District Superintendent of Police wanted for any such purpose, he may require the postal or telegraph authorities, as the case may be, to cause such search to be made for, and to detain such document pending the orders of any such Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Court of Session or High Court.

Title: Management of Forests the Joint Property of Government and Other Persons

(1) If the Government and any person be jointly interested in any forest or waste-land, or in the whole or any part of the produce thereof, the1[ State Government ] may either- ] may either- (a) undertake the management of such forest, waste-land or produce, accounting to such person for his interest in the same; or (b) issue such regulations for the management of the forest, waste-land or produce by the person so jointly interested as it deems necessary for the management thereof and the interests of all parties therein. Title: Procedure of Arrest of Person Against Whom Warrant Issued

When a warrant of arrest is executed outside the district in which it was issued, the person arrested shall, unless the Court which issued the warrant is within thirty kilometres of the place of arrest or is nearer than the Executive Magistrate or District Superintendent of Police or Commissioner of Police within the local limits of whose jurisdiction the arrest was made, or unless security is taken under section 71, be taken before such Magistrate or District Superintendent or Commissioner.
