(e) to discharge such other functions in relation to the protection, welfare, development and advancement of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes as may be prescribed: Provided that if any matter specified in this section is dealt with by the National commission for Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes established under Article 338 of the Constitution of India the State Commission for Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes shall cease to have jurisdiction on such matter.

Prior to Substitution it read as under: ( 1) Every cable operator shall, from the commencement of the Cables Television Networks (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2000, re-transmit at least two Doordarshan terrestrial channels and one regional language channel of a State in the prime band, in satellite mode on frequencies other than those carrying terrestrial frequencies. ( 2) The Doordarshan channels referred to in sub-section ( 1) shall be retransmitted without any deletion or alteration of any programme transmitted on such channels.

Deposits with the Financial Corporation (1) The Financial Corporation may accept from the State Government, or with the prior approval of the Reserve Bank, from a local authority or any other person deposits repayable after the expiry of a period which shall not be less than twelve months from the date of the making of the deposit and on such other terms as the Board thinks fit: Provided that the total amount of such deposits shall not exceed twice the paid-up share capital of the Financial Corporation: Provided further that the State Government may permit the Financial Corporation to accept deposits up to a higher limit not exceeding ten times the paid-up share capital of the Financial Corporation. State Civil Services Act, 1978 Section 8

Title: Power to Make Rules

(1) The State Government may, by notification make rules to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) Any rule made under this Act may be made with retrospective effect and when such a rule is made, the reasons for making the rule shall be specified in a statement to be laid before both Houses of the State Legislature and subject to any modification made under subsection (3), every rule made under this Act shall have effect as if it is enacted in this Act. (3) Every rule made under this Act shall be laid as soon as may be, after it is made, before each House of the State Legislature while it is in session for a total period of thirty days, which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and if before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the sessions immediately following, both Houses agree in making any modification in the rule or both Houses agree that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be ; so, however, that any modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.

Spirituous Preparations (Inter-state Trade and Commerce) Control Act, 1955 Section 8

Title: Power to Enter, Search, Seize, Arrest Without Warrant and Investigate Offences

(2) Where an officer takes down any information in writing under sub-section (1), he shall forthwith send a copy thereof to his immediate official superior. (3) The State Government may empower any officer of the prohibition or excise department to investigate offences under this Act and the rules made thereunder. (4) An officer empowered under sub-section (3) shall, in the conduct of such investigation, exercise the powers conferred by the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (V of 1898), upon an officer in charge of a police station for the investigation of cognisable offences.

(1) Any police officer, not below the rank of a sub-inspector, may, if he has any reason to suspect that any provision of this Act has been, or is being, contravened, enter and search, at any reasonable time, any factory, building, business premises or any other place where any trade or commerce in cigarettes is carried on or cigarettes are produced, supplied or distributed. (2) The provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, shall apply to every search and seizure made under this Act.
