Title: Civil Offences Not Triable by Court-martial

A person subject to this Act who commits an offence of murder against a person not subject to military, naval or air force law, or of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against such a person or of rape in relation to such a person, shall not be deemed to be guilty of an offence against this Act and shall not be tried by a court-martial, unless he commits any of the said offences-- (a) while on active service, or (b) at any place outside India, or (c) at a frontier post specified by the Central Government by notification in this behalf 1[* * * ] _____________________ 1 . Title: Inspection of Books of Indebted Multi-state Co-operative Societies

(1) The Central Registrar shall, on the application of a creditor of a multi-State co-operative society, inspect, or direct some person authorised by him by order in writing in this behalf to inspect, the books of the society: Provided that no such inspection shall be made unless the applicant- (a) Satisfies the Central Registrar that the debt is a sum then due. and that he has demanded payment thereof and has not received satisfaction within a reasonable time; and (b) Deposits with the Central Registrar such sum as security for the costs of the proposed inspection as the Central Registrar may require. (2) The Central Registrar shall communicate the result of any such inspection to the creditor.

Title: Abetment of Offences Punishable with Imprisonment and Not Committed

Any person subject to this Act who abets the commission of any of the offences specified in sections 34 to 66 inclusive and punishable with imprisonment shall, on conviction by court-martial, if that offence be not committed in consequence of the abetment and no express provision is made by this Act for the punishment of such abetment, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to one-half of the longest term provided for that offence or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned.

Any Minister of Religion licensed to solemnize marriages under this Act, who, without a notice in writing, or, when one of the parties to the marriage is a minor and the required consent of the parents or guardians to such marriage has not been obtained, within fourteen days after the receipt by him of notice of such marriage, knowingly and wilfully solemnizes a marriage under Part III, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine.

(1) No provision of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910 (9 of 1910), or of any rules made thereunder or of any instrument having effect by virtue of such law or rule shall, so far as it is inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Act, have any effect: Provided that nothing in this Act shall be deemed to prevent the State Government from granting, after consultation with the Board, a licence not inconsistent with the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910 (9 of 1910), to any person in respect of such area and on such terms and conditions as the State Government may think fit. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the provisions of this Act shall be in addition to, and not in derogation of, the Indian Electricity Act, 1910 (9 of 1910).

Title: Fine Leviable Within Six Years, or During Imprisonment-- Death Not to Discharge Property from Liability

The fine, or any part thereof which remains unpaid, may be levied at any time within six years after me passing of the sentence, and if, under the sentence, the offender be liable to imprisonment for a longer period than six years, then at any time previous to the expiration of that period; and the death of the offender does not discharge from the liability any property which would, after his death, be legally liable for his debts.
