Indian legislature Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Indian legislature shall consist of the Governor-General and two chambers, namely, the Council of State and the legislative Assembly. Except as otherwise provided by or under this Act, a Bill shall not be deemed to have been passed by the Indian legislature unless it has been agreed to by both chambers, either without amendment or with such amendments only as may be agreed to by both chambers.] ________________________ 1. Penalty For Misconduct Or Neglect Endangering Inland1[Mechanically Propelled Vessel] Or Life Or Limb If any person employed or engaged in any capacity on board an inland1[mechanically propelled vessel], by wilful breach or by neglect of duty, or by reason of drunkenness-- (a) does any act tending immediately to wreck, destroy or materially damage the vessel, or to endanger the life or limb of any person on board or belonging to the vessel, or (b) refuses or omits to do any lawful act proper and requisite to be done by him for preserving the vessel from immediate wreck, destruction or material damage, or for preserving any such person from immediate danger to life or limb, he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with both. ________________________ 1. For the words "Steam-vessel" and "Steam-vessels" wherever they occur throughout the Act the words "mechanically propelled vessel" and "mechanically propelled vessels" substituted respectively, section 5 (w.e.f. 1-5-1078).

Section 63 - Power of Grama Panchayat as to roads, bridges etc. All village roads and bridges thereon, cart tracks, drains, wells and other public places in the panchayat area not being private property and not being under the control or management of Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, Municipal Council,1[Town Panchayat, Industrial Township], or the Government shall vest in the Grama Panchayat and the Grama Panchayat may do all things necessary for the maintenance and repair thereof, and may,- (a) lay-out and make new roads; (b) construct new bridges; (c) widen, open, enlarge or otherwise improve any such roads or bridges; (d)2[xxx] divert, discontinue or close any road or bridge; and (e) deepen or otherwise improve any water way: 3[Provided that no road or bridge shall be diverted, discontinued or closed before the Grama Panchayat publishes its intention of doing so]. _______________ 1. Title: Death of Party to a Proceeding

If a person who is a party to a proceeding under this Act (not being a proceeding before the Appellate Board or a court) dies pending the proceeding, the Registrar may, on request, and on proof to his satisfaction of the transmission of the interest of the deceased person, substitute in the proceeding his successor in interest in his place, or, if the Registrar is of opinion that the interest of the deceased person is sufficiently represented by the surviving parties, permit the proceeding to continue without the substitution of his successor in interest.

Title: Effect of Abandonment

(1) Where there is a valid abandonment the insurer is entitled to take over the interest of the assured in whatever may remain of the subject-matter, insured, and all proprietary rights incidental thereto. (2) Upon the abandonment of a ship, the insurer thereof is entitled to any freight in course of being earned, and which is earned by her subsequent to the casualty causing the loss, less the expenses of earning it incurred after the casualty; and, where the ship is carrying the owner's goods, the insurer is entitled to a reasonable remuneration for the carriage of them subsequent to the casualty causing the loss.
