Title: Duty of the Board to Undertake Labour Housing Schemes

(1) It shall be the duty of the Board to provide for the welfare of labour by providing proper houses for employees as near as possible to their place of work of such types and designs in accordance with such schemes as the State Government may approve. (2) The Board may, in addition to preparing and carrying out schemes for the provision of suitable housing accommodation for employees, promote measures directed towards,-- (i) the provision of gardens, playgrounds and recreational facilities; (ii) the improvement of public health and sanitation; (iii) provision of water supplies and facilities for washing; (iv) the provision of transport to and from work; and may incur in respect of such measures expenditure from the fund of the Board within such limits as may be prescribed by the State Government.

Title: Licensing of Private Warehouses

(2) The1[ Assistant Commissioner of Customs or Deputy Commissioner of Customs ] may cancel a licence granted under sub-section (1) -- ( a) by giving one month's notice in writing to the licensee; or ( b) if the licensee has contravened any provision of this Act or the rules or regulations or committed breach of any of the conditions of the licence: Provided that before any licence is cancelled under clause ( b), the licensee shall be given a reasonable opportunity of being heard. (3) Pending an enquiry whether a licence granted under sub-section (1) should be cancelled under clause ( b) of sub-section (2), the ssistant Commissioner of Customs or Deputy Commissioner of Customs may suspend the licence. ________________________ 1. Title: Notification of Discover) of Uranium or Thorium

(1) Every person who, whether before or after the commencement of this Act, has discovered or discovers that uranium or thorium occurs at any place in India shall, within three months after the date of commencement of this Act or after the discovery whichever is later report the discovery in writing to the Central Government or to any person or authority authorised by the Central Government in this behalf. (2) Every person who has reason to believe that uranium or thorium occurs at any place in India shall, without delay, send intimation of such belief and the reasons therefor to the Central Government or to any such person or authority as aforesaid.

Title: Power to Obtain Information Regarding Materials, Plant or Processes

Title: Prevention of Entry into Prohibited Areas

Title: Administration of Factories Act, 1948

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Factories Act, 1948, the authority to administer the said Act and to do all things for the enforcement of its provisions, including the appointment of inspecting staff and the making of rules thereunder, shall vest in the Central Government in relation to any factory owned by the Central Government1[or any authority or corporation established by it or a Government company] and engaged in carrying out the purposes of this Act. _________________________ 1. Title: Delegation of Powers

The Central Government may, by order, direct that any power conferred or any duty imposed on it by this Act shall, in such circumstances and subject to such conditions as may be specified in the direction, be exercised or discharged also by-- (a) such officer or authority subordinate to the Central Government, or (b) such State Government or such officer or authority subordinate to a State Government as may be specified in the direction.
