Indian Electricity Act, 1910 [Repealed] Section 50

Title: Institution of Prosecutions

No prosecution shall be instituted against any person for any offence against this Act or any rule, license or order thereunder, except at the instance the instance of the Government1[or a state Electricity Board] or an2[Electrical Inspector], or of a person aggrieved by the same. ________________________ 1. Indian Electricity Act, 1910 [Repealed] Section 27B

Title: State Transmission Utility

State: Central

Year: 1910

(1) The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify the State Electricity Board or any Government company as the State Transmission Utility. (2) The functions of the State Transmission Utility shall be to (a) undertake transmission of energy through intra-State transmission system; (b) discharge all functions of planning and co-ordination relating to intra-State transmission system with (i) Central Transmission Utility; (ii) State Governments; (iii) generating companies; (iv) Regional Electricity Boards; (v) Authority; (vi) licensees; (vii) transmission licensees; (viii) any other person notified by the State Government in this behalf. (3) The state Transmission Utility shall exercise supervision and control over the intra-state transmission system. (4) The State Transmission Utility shall comply with and ensure compliance by others in that State of me directions which the Central Transmission Utility may give from time to time in connection with the integrated grid operations and operation of the power system or otherwise in regard to matters which affect the operation of the inter-State transmission system.

Dourine Act, 1910 Section 4

Title: Appointment of Inspectors and Veterinary Practitioners

(1) The State Government may, by notification as aforesaid, appoint any persons it thinks fit to be inspectors, and any qualified veterinary surgeons to be veterinary practitioners, under this Act, and to exercise and perform, within any area prescribed by the notification, the powers conferred and duties imposed by this Act upon such officers respectively. (2) Every person so appointed shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code.

Dourine Act, 1910 Section 2

Title: Definitions

(1) In this Act, the expressions "inspector" and "veterinary practitioner" mean, respectively, the officers appointed as such under this Act, acting within the local limits for which they are so appointed. (2) The provisions of this Act in so far as they relate to entire horses shall, if the State Government, by notification as aforesaid, so directs, apply also to entire assess used for mule-breeding purposes.

Title: Repeals and Savings

(1) The Indian Electricity Act, 1903 (3 of 1903), is hereby repealed: Provided that every application for a license made and every license granted under the said Act shall be deemed to have been made and granted under this Act. (2) Nothing in this Act shall be deemed to affect the terms of any license which was granted, or of any agreement which was made, by or with the sanction of the Government for the supply or use of electricity before the commencement of this Act.

Title: Penalty for Extinguishing Public Lamps

Whoever maliciously extinguishes any public lamp shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to three hundred rupees, or with both.

Title: Penalty for Maliciously Wasting Energy or Injuring Works

State: Central

Year: 1910

Whoever maliciously causes energy to be wasted or diverted, or, with intent to cut off the supply of energy, cuts or injures, or attempts to cut or injure, any electric supply-line or works, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
