Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976 Section 48

Title: Conditions Under Which Export of Non-standard Weights and Measures and Other Goods May Be Made

.....limitations and restrictions as may be prescribed, the Central Government may allow the export of any weight or measure which has been .made or manufactured exclusively for export with the previous permission of that Government notwithstanding that such weight or measure does not conform to the standards established by or under this Act. (2) Where any commodity in packaged form is exported and the person to whom such export is to be made so requires, the exporter may, in addition to specifying the net contents of such package in terms of the standards unit of weight or measure established by or under this Act, also specify the weight or the net contents thereof in terms of such units of weight or measure as may be specified by the person to whom such commodity is to be exported. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Act, in relation to any goods which are exported, (a) quotation of any price; (b) issue of any price list, invoice or cash memo; (c) indication of the weight or measure or number of net contents of any package on any label, carton or other thing; (d) expression of any dimension, may be made in accordance with any other system of.....

.....provisions of this Act and, except as otherwise provided by or this Act or the Statutes, continue in force unless and until they are superseded by any order made under this Act or the Statutes; and (b) all proceedings of Selection Committees for the appointment or promotion of teachers that took place before the commencement of this Act and all actions of the Executive Council in respect of the recommendations of such Selection Committees where no orders of appointment on the basis thereof were passed before the commencement of this Act shall, notwithstanding that the procedure for selection has been modified by this Act, be deemed to have been valid but further proceeding in connection with such pending selections shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of this Act and be continued from the stage where they stood immediately before such commencement, except if the concerned authorities take, with the approval of the Visitor, a decision to the contrary.

Actuaries Act, 2006 Section 48

Title: Dissolution of Actuarial Society of India

On the appointed day.-- (a) the Society known as the Actuarial Society of India registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860(21 of 1860. Bombay Act XXXIX of 1950) and the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 shall stand dissolved and thereafter no person shall make, assert or take any claims or demands or proceedings against the dissolved society or against any officer thereof in his capacity as such officer except in so far as may be necessary, for enforcing the provisions of this Act; (b) the right of every member to, or in respect of, the dissolved society shall be extinguished, and thereafter no member of the society shall make, assert or take any claims or demands or proceedings in respect of that society except as provided in this Act.

Manipur Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 Section 48

Title: Establishment of Zilla Parishad

(1) The Governor shall, by notification in the Official Gazette establish a Zilla Parishad for a district and having jurisdiction over it, with effect from such date as may be specified. (2) Every Zilla Parishad shall be a corporate body by the name of its district, having perpetual succession and common seal and subject to such restrictions as are imposed by or under this or any, other enactment, shall be vested with the capacity of sueing or being sued in its corporate name, of acquiring, holding and transfering property movable or immovable, whether without or within the limits of the area over which it has authority, of entering into contracts and of doing all things, necessary, proper or expedient for the purpose for which it is constituted.
