Title: Protection of Action Taken in Good Faith

No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against the Central Government or the Authority or any officer of Central Government or any member, officer or other employees of the Authority for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act or the rules or regulations made thereunder.

COMPANIES ACT, 2013, Section 48

Title: Variation of shareholders' rights

.....within twenty-one days after the date on which the consent was given or the resolution was passed, as the case may be, and may be made on behalf of the shareholders entitled to make the application by such one or more of their number as they may appoint in writing for the purpose. (3) The decision of the Tribunal on any application under sub-section (2) shall be binding on the shareholders. (4) The company shall, within thirty days of the date of the order of the Tribunal, file a copy thereof with the Registrar. (5) Where any default is made in complying with the provisions of this section, the company shall be punishable with fine which shall not be less than twenty-five thousand rupees but which may extend to five lakh rupees and every officer of the company who is in default shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which shall not be less than twenty-five thousand rupees but which may extend to five lakh rupees, or with both.

Title: Establishment of National Monitoring Committee for Rehabilitation and Resettlement

(1) The Central Government may, whenever necessary, for national or inter-State projects, constitute a National Monitoring Committee for reviewing and monitoring the implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement schemes or plans under this Act. (2) The Committee may, besides having representation of the concerned Ministries and Departments of the Central and State Governments, associate with it eminent experts from the relevant fields. (3) The procedures to be followed by the Committee and the allowances payable to the experts shall be such as may be prescribed. (4) The Central Government shall provide officers and other employees to the Committee necessary for its efficient functioning.

.....be the total income before giving effect to this Chapter as increased by-- (i) deductions claimed, if any, under any section (other than section) included in Chapter VI-A under the heading "C.--Deductions in respect of certain incomes"; and (ii) deduction claimed, if any, under section 10AA. (3) Every person to whom this section applies shall obtain a report, in such form as may be prescribed, from an accountant, certifying that the adjusted total income and the alternate minimum tax have been computed in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter and furnish such report on or before the due date of furnishing of return of income under sub-section (1) of section 139.'.

Legal Metrology Act, 2009 Section 48

Title: Compounding of Offences

(2) The Director or legal metrology officer as may be specially authorised by him in this behalf, may compound offences punishable under section 25, sections 27 to 39, or any rule made under sub-section (3) of section 52. (3) The Controller or legal metrology officer specially authorised by him, may compound offences punishable under section 25, sections 27 to 31, sections 33 to 37, sections 45 to 47, and any rule made under sub-section (3) of section 52: Provided that such sum shall not, in any case, exceed the maximum amount of the fine, which may be imposed under this Act for the offence so compounded. (4) Nothing in sub-section (1) shall apply to person who commits the same or similar offence, within a period of three years from the date on which the first offence, committed by him, was compounded. Explanation.--For the purposes of this sub-section, any second or subsequent offence committed after the expiry of a period of three years from the date on which the offence was previously compounded, shall be deemed to be a first offence. (5) Where an offence has been compounded under sub-section (1), no proceeding or further proceeding, as the case may be,.....
