Title: Supreme Court Legal Services Committee

(1) The Central Authority shall constitute a committee to be called the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee for the purpose of exercising such powers and performing such functions as may be determined by regulations made, by the Central Authority. (2) The Committee shall consist of-- (a) a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court who shall be the Chairman; and (b) such number of other members possessing such experience and qualifications as may be prescribed by the Central Government, to be nominated by the Chief Justice of India. (3) The Chief Justice of India shall appoint a person to be the Secretary to the Committee, possessing such experience and qualifications as may be prescribed by the Central Government. (4) The terms of office and other conditions relating thereto, of the members and Secretary of the Committee shall be such as may be determined by regulations made by the Central Authority. (5) The Committee may appoint such number of officers and other employees as may be prescribed by the Central Government, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, for the efficient discharge of its functions. 1 [3A. Power to exempt citizens of Commonwealth countries and other persons from application of Act in certain cases (1) The Central Government may, by order declare that all or any of the provisions of this Act or of any order made thereunder shall not apply, or shall apply only in such circumstances or with such except ions or modifications or subject to such conditions as may be specified in the order, to or in relation to-- (a) the citizens of any such Commonwealth country as may be so specified; or (b) any other individual foreigner or class or description of foreigner. (2) A copy of every order made under this section shall be placed on the table of both Houses of Parliament as soon as may be after it is made. __________________________ 1. (1) On the commencement of the Agricultural Refinance Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1975, the Corporation established under 9 and known as the Agricultural Refinance Corporation shall be renamed as the Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation. (2) The change of name of Agricultural Refinance Corporation by sub- (1) shall not (a) affect any right or obligation of that Corporation subsisting immediately before the commencement of the Agricultural Refinance Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1975; (b) render defective any suit or other legal proceeding pending, immediately before such commencement, by or against the Corporation in its former name; and (c) affect the institution, continuation or commencement of any suit or other legal proceeding which could have been instituted, continued or commenced, by or against that Corporation in its former name before such commencement.

.....of split Where a councillor or a member makes a claim that he and any other members of his political party constitute the group representing a faction which has arisen as a result of a split in his political party and such group consists of not less than one--third of the members of such political party,-- (a) he shall not be disqualified under sub--section (1) of section 3 on the ground,-- (i) that he has voluntarily given up his membership of his political party ; or (ii) that he has voted or abstained from voting in, or intentionally remained absent from, any meeting of the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Town Panchayat, Zilla Panchayat or Taluk Panchayat contrary to any direction issued by the political party to which he belongs or by any person or authority authorised by it in this behalf, without obtaining in any case, the prior permission of such political party, person or authority and such voting or abstention or absence has not been condoned by such political party, person or authority within fifteen days from the date of voting or such abstention or absence ; and (b) from the time of such split, such faction shall be deemed to be the political.....

1[(3A) Eviction from temporary occupation Notwithstanding anything contained in section 4 or section 5, if the estate officer, after making such inquiry as he deems expedient in the circumstances of the case, is satisfied that any persons who were allowed temporary occupation of any public premises are in unauthorised occupation of the said premises, he may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, make an order for the eviction of such persons forthwith and, thereupon, if such persons refuse or fail to comply with the said order of eviction, he may evict them from the premises and take possession thereof and may, for that purpose, use such force as may be necessary.] _________________________ 1.
