The Act has been extended to Goa, Daman and Diu by Reg. 12 of 1962, Section 3 and Schedule; to Dadra and Nagar Haveli by Reg. 6 of 1963, Section 2 and Sch I. I; to Pondicherry by Reg. 7 of 1963, Section 3 and Schedule I and to Laccadive, Minicoy and Amindivi Islands by Reg. 8 of 1965, Section 3 and Schedule It has been extended to the State of Sikkim w.e.f. 13-9-1994 vide Notification No. S.O. 516(E), dated 9th July, 1994. 2. The words "British India" have successively been substituted by the A.O. 1948, the A.O. 1950 and Act 3 of 1951, section 3 and Schedule to read as above.

Railways Act, 1989 Section 188

Title : Railway Servants to Be Public Servants for the Purposes of Chapter Ix and Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code

(1) Any railway servant, who is not a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860), shall be deemed to be a public servant for the purposes of Chapter IX and section 409 of that Code. (2) In the definition of "legal remuneration" in section 161 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860), the word "Government" shall, for the purposes of sub-section (1), be deemed to include any employer of a railway servant as such.

Title : Assault or Criminal Force to Woman with Intent to Outrage Her Modesty

Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) Section 380

Title : Theft in Dwelling House, Etc.

Whoever commits theft in any building, tent or vessel, which building, lent or vessel is used as a human dwelling, or used for the custody of property, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. STATE AMENDMENTS 1[Tamil Nadu Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act XLV of 1860) (hereinafter in this Part referred to as the principal Act), shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) of that section and after sub-section (1) as so renumbered, the following sub-section shall be added, namely":-- "(2) Whoever commits theft in respect of any idol or icon in any building used as a place of worship shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than two years but which may extend to three years and with fine which shall not be less than two thousand rupees: Provided that the court may, for adequate and special reasons to be mentioned in the judgment impose a sentence of imprisonment for a term of less than two years." ______________________ 1. (2) All offences under any other law shall be investigated, inquired into, tried, and otherwise dealt with according to the same provisions, but subject to any enactment for the lime being in force regulating the manner or place of investigating, inquiring into, trying or otherwise dealing with such offences.
