Title: Committee of Creditors

(1) The interim administrator shall appoint a committee of creditors with such number of members as he may determine, but not exceeding seven, and as far as possible a representative each of every class of creditors should be represented in that committee. (2) The holding of the meeting of the committee of creditors and the procedure to be followed at such meetings, including the appointment of its chairperson, shall be decided by the interim administrator. (3) The interim administrator may direct any promoter, director or any key managerial personnel to attend any meeting of the committee of creditors and to furnish such information as may be considered necessary by the interim administrator.

Title: Withdrawal of Complaint

If a complainant, at any time before a final order is passed in any case under this Chapter, satisfies the Magistrate that there are sufficient grounds for permitting him to withdraw his complaint against the accused, or if there be more than one accused, against all or any of them, the Magistrate may permit him to withdraw the same, and shall thereupon acquit the accused against whom the complaint is so withdrawn.

Whoever makes or performs any part of the process of making, or buys, or sells, or disposes of, any instrument for the purpose of being used, or knowing or having reason to believe that it is intended to be used, for the purpose of counterfeiting any stamp issued by Government for the purpose of revenue, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 257

Title: Temporary Occupation of Street, Land, Etc.

(1) The Chief Executive Officer may, by order in writing, permit the temporary occupation of any street, or of any land vested in the Board, for the purpose of depositing any building materials or making any temporary excavation therein or erection thereon, subject to such conditions as the Board may prescribe for the safety or convenience of the public, and may charge a fee for such permission and may in his discretion withdraw such permission. (2) Where any article or thing is placed on any street or land under the management of the Board or the Defence Estates Officer so as to form an obstruction thereto or any encroachment thereon, the Chief Executive Officer or, as the case may be, the Defence Estates Officer, may cause such article or thing to be removed and recover from the person who placed such article or thing the expenses incurred in that behalf in the same manner as moneys recoverable by the Board under section 324 and may also, if such person fails to offer satisfactory explanation, order the confiscation of such article or thing.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 257

Title: Removal of Rubbish and Filth Accumulating in Large Quantities on Premises

State: Karnataka

When any premises are used for carrying on any manufacture, trade or business or in any way so that rubbish or filth is accumulated in quantities which are, in the opinion of the Commissioner, too considerable to be deposited in any of the methods prescribed, by a notice issued under section 256, the Commissioner may,- (a) by notice require the owner or occupier of such premises to collect all rubbish and filth accumulating thereon, and to remove the same at such times, in such carts or receptacles, and by such routes as may be specified in the notice to a depot or place provided or appointed under section 255; or (b) after giving such owner or occupier notice of his intention, cause all rubbish and filth accumulated in such premises to be removed, and charge the said owner or occupier for such removal such periodical fee as may, with the sanction of the standing committee, be specified in the notice issued under clause (a)

Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 257

If, in the course of the official year, the Zilla Panchayat finds it necessary to modify the provisions made in the budget with regard to the receipts or to the distribution of the amounts to be expended on the different services it undertakes, it may make such modifications: Provided that no diversion of grants transferred by the Government out of the Consolidated Fund of the State can be made for a purpose or programme or scheme not covered under such grants: Provided also that, without the approval of the Government,- (a) no reduction of over ten percent shall be made in the grants approved for any developmental functions of the Zilla Panchayat, and (b) the closing balance shall not be reduced below the sum fixed under clause (c) of sub-section (3) of section 256.
