Title: Enforcement and Consequences of Agents Contracts

Contracts entered into through an agent, and obligations arising from acts done by an agent, may be enforced in the same manner, and will have the same legal consequences, as if the contracts had been entered into and the acts done by the principal in person. Illustration (a) A buys goods from B, knowing that he is an agent for their sale, but not knowing who is the principal. B's principal is the person entitled to claim from A the price of the goods, and A cannot, in a suit by the principal, set-off against that claim a debt due to himself from B. (b) A, being B's agent with authority to receive money on his behalf, receives from C a sum of money due to B. C is discharged of his obligation to pay the sum in question to B.

Title: Jurisdiction in Revenue Matters

(1) Until otherwise provided by Act of the appropriate legislature, no High Court shall have any original jurisdiction in any matter concerning the revenue, or concerning any act ordered or done in the collection thereof according to the usage and practice of the country or the law for the time being in force. (2) A Bill or amendment for making such provision as aforesaid shall not be introduced into or moved in a Chamber of the Federal or a Provincial Legislature without the previous sanction of the Governor-General in his discretion or, as the case may be, of the Governor in his discretion.

(1) The amounts at the credit of the Fund shall be kept in the Government Treasury. (2) It shall be lawful for a Zilla Panchayat to deposit at interest with the Government Savings Bank or with the sanction of the Government, any scheduled bank or co-operative bank in the State, any surplus funds in its hands which may not be required for current charges and with like sanction to invest such funds in securities of the Government of India or the State Government or in such other securities as the Government may, from time to time, approve in this behalf and to vary such investment or dispose of such securities with like sanction.

Title: Non-removal of Filth, Etc.

Whoever, being the owner or occupier of any building or land, keeps or allows to be kept for more than twenty-four hours, or otherwise than in some proper receptacle, any dirt, dung, bones, ashes, night-soil, filth or any noxious or offensive matter, in or upon such building or land, or suffers such receptacle to be in a filthy or noxious state, or neglects to employ proper means to remove the filth from and to cleanse and purify such receptacle, or keeps or allows to be kept in or upon such building or land any animal in such a way as to cause a nuisance, shall be punished with fine which may extend to twenty-five rupees and with further fine which may extend to five rupees for every day on which such offence is continued, after the date of the first conviction.

Title: Power of Central Government to Order a Second Survey

(1) If a surveyor making a survey under this part refuses to give a declaration of survey under section 223 with regard to any ship or gives a declaration with which the owner or agent or master of the ship surveyed is dissatisfied, the Central Government may, on the application of the owner, agent or master, and the payment by him of such fee, not exceeding twice the amount of the fee for the previous survey, as the Central Government may require, direct any other surveyor to survey the ship. (2) The surveyor so directed shall forthwith survey the ship, and may, after the survey, either refuse to give a declaration or give such declaration as under the circumstances seems to him proper, and his decision shall, save as otherwise provided in this Act, be final.
