The Registrar or inspector shall, after the inspection of the books of account or an inquiry under section 206 and other books and papers of the company under section 207, submit a report in writing to the Central Government along with such documents, if any, and such report may, if necessary, include a recommendation that further investigation into the affairs of the company is necessary giving his reasons in support.

Title: Functions of the Board in Relation to Distribution of Bulk Supply

Where under the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 207 a bulk supply of water is received by the Board, the Board shall be solely responsible for the supply of water to all persons in the cantonment other than entitled consumers; and the provisions of this Act shall apply as if such bulk supply were a source of public water-supply under the control of the Board and as if the communications from and connections with such bulk supply for the purpose of supplying water to such persons were a system of water-supply established and maintained by the Board.

Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 208

Title: Popers of State Government to Make Rules

.....a Nagar Panchayat or a Council; (viii) form and procedure for taking oath or affirmation by Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Councillor the authority who shall administer oath or affirmation; and (ix) manner in which bye-laws shall be published after confirmation by the Government. (3) Every rule made under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before Legislative Assembly while it is in session for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following the session or the successive reasons aforesaid. Legislative Assembly makes any modification in the rule or decides that any such rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.

New Delhi Municipal Council Act 1994 Section 208

Title: Power to Acquire Lands and Buildings for Public Streets and for Public Parking Places

(1) Subject to the provisions contained in Chapter X, the Chairperson may-- (a) acquire any land required for the purpose of opening, widening, extending or otherwise improving any public street or of making any new public street, and any building standing upon such land; (b) acquire in relation to any such land or building, all such land with buildings, if any, thereon as the Council may think expendient to acquire outside of the regular line, or of the intended regular line, of such street; (c) acquire any land for the purpose of laying out or making a public parking place.

Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 Section 208

Title: Summary Disposal of Cases

.....the summons that the accused person, if he pleads guilty, shall so plead in the manner specified in clause (b) and shall forward his driving licence to the court with his letter containing such plea. (2) Where the offence dealt with in accordance with sub-section (1) is an offence specified by the Central Government by rules for the purposes of this sub-section, the court shall, if the accused person pleads guilty to the charge and forward his driving licence to the court with the letter containing his plea, make an endorsement of such conviction on his driving licence. (3) Where an accused person pleads guilty and remits the sum specified and has complied with the provisions of sub-section (1), or as the case may be, sub-sections (1) and (2), no further proceedings in respect of the offence shall be taken against him nor shall he be liable, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Act, to be disqualified for holding or obtaining a licence by reason of his having pleaded guilty.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 208

Title: Prohibition of Waste or Misuse of Water

State: Karnataka

(1) No person shall wilfully or negligently cause or suffer any water fitting which he is liable to maintain,- (a) to be or remain so out of order or so in need of repair; or (b) to be or remain so constructed or adopted or to be so used, that the water supplied to him by the corporation is or is likely to be wasted, misused or unduly consumed, or contaminated before use, or that foul air or an impure matter is likely to return into any pipe belonging to, or connected with a pipe belonging to the corporation. (2) If any water fitting which any person is liable to maintain is in such a condition or so constructed or adapted as aforesaid, the corporation, without prejudice to any action under any other provisions of this Act, may require that person to carry out any necessary repairs or alterations and if he fails to do so within forty-eight hours may itself carry out the work and recover from him the expenses reasonably incurred by it in so doing, as an arrear of water rate payable under this Chapter.

Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 Section 208

Title: Supply of Copies of Statements and Documents to Accused in Other Cases Triable by Court of Session

Where, in a case instituted otherwise than on a police report, it appears to the Magistrate issuing process under section 204 that the offence is triable exclusively by the Court of Session, the Magistrate shall without delay furnish to the accused, free of cost, a copy of each of the following: (i) the statements recorded under section 200 or section 202, or all persons examined by the Magistrate; (ii) the statements and confessions, if any, recorded under section 161 or section 164; (iii) any documents produced before the Magistrate on which the prosecution proposes to rely: Provided that if the Magistrate is satisfied that any such document is voluminous, he shall, instead of furnishing the accused with a copy thereof, direct that he will only be allowed to inspect it either personally or through pleader in Court.

Title: Permission Necessary for Certain Projections

.....such street, so as to obstruct or interfere with such aqueduct, drain or sewer or the proper working thereof: Provided that the municipal council shall, if such projection, encroachment or obstruction shall have been made in any place before the date on which such place became part of a1[municipal area], or after such date with the written permission of the municipal council, make reasonable compensation to every person who suffers damage by such removal or alteration; and if any dispute shall arise touching the amount of such compensation, the same shall be ascertained and determined in the manner provided in section 268. _______________________________ 1.
