Title: Prohibition on Forward Dealings in Securities of Company by Director or Key Managerial Personnel

.....personnel shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which shall not be less than one lakh rupees but which may extend to five lakh rupees, or with both. (3) Where a director or other key managerial personnel acquires any securities in contravention of sub-section (1), he shall, subject to the provisions contained in sub-section (2), be liable to surrender the same to the company and the company shall not register the securities so acquired in his name in the register, and if they are in dematerialised form, it shall inform the depository not to record such acquisition and such securities, in both the cases, shall continue to remain in the names of the transferors. Explanation.--For the purposes of this section, ''relevant shares'' and ''relevant debentures'' mean shares and debentures of the company in which the concerned person is a whole-time director or other key managerial personnel or shares and debentures of its holding and subsidiary companies.

Title: Board Not Liable for Failure of Supply

Notwithstanding any obligation imposed on Boards under this Act, a Board shall not be liable to any forfeiture, penalty or damages for failure to supply water or for curtailing the quantity thereof if the failure or curtailment, as the case may be, arises from accident or from drought or other unavoidable cause unless, in the case of an agreement for the supply of water under section 193, the Board has made express provision for forfeiture, penalty or damages in the event of such' failure or curtailment.

Title: Offences Under the Act Compoundable

(1) The offences under this Act shall be compoundable: Provided that no offence, arising from the failure to comply with a written notice given by or on behalf of, the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, as the case may be, shall be compoundable unless the notice has been complied with. (2) Sums paid by way of composition under this section shall be credited to the Municipal Fund.

.....for the making of any entry, inspection, examination or inquiry thereunder in relation to any water or sewage work; or (f) bathe in, at or upon any water work or wash or throw or cause to enter therein any animal, or throw any rubbish, dirt or filth into any water work or wash or clean therein any cloth, wool or leather or the skin of any animal, or cause the water of any sink, or drain or any steam-engine or boiler or any polluted water to turn or be brought into any water work, or do any other act whereby the water in any water work is fouled or likely to be fouled. (2) Nothing in clause (b) of sub-section (1) shall apply to a consumer closing the stopcock fixed on the service pipe supplying water to his premises so long as he has obtained the consent of any other consumer whose supply will be affected thereby.

Title: Presumption Where Notice is Served by Post

Where a notice or other document is served by post, it shall be deemed to have been served at the time when the letter containing it would be delivered in the ordinary course of post, and in proving such service, it shall be sufficient to prove that the letter containing the notice or other document was properly addressed and registered.

Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 Section 194

Title: Driving Vehicle Exceeding Permissible Weight

1[(1) Whoever drivers a motor vehicle or causes or allows a motor vehicle to be driven in contravention of the provisions of section 113 or section 114 or section 115 shall be punishable with minimum fine of two thousand rupees and an additional amount of one thousand rupees per tonne of excess load, together with the liability to pay charges for off-loading of the excess load]. (2) Any driver of a vehicle who refuses to stop and submit his vehicle to weighing after being directed to do so by an officer authorised in this behalf under section 114 or removes or causes the removal of the load or part of it prior to weighing shall be punishable with fine which may extend to three thousand rupees. ______________________ 1. Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 Section 194

Title: Suspension or Remission of Land Revenue

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, but subject to such rules as may be prescribed, where there is failure of crops in any tract owing to inadequate rainfall or other cause, and the State Government considers that it is necessary to suspend or remit the land revenue payable in respect of any land in such tract, it may, by notification,-- (i) suspend the collection of land revenue or any part thereof for such period as may be specified in such notification; or (ii) remit the land revenue payable for any year in whole or in part as may be specified in such notification. (2) Every notification issued under sub-section (1) shall be laid before both Houses of the State Legislature.
