Where a seaman leaves the seafaring profession with no present intention of resuming that profession and obtains employment in any establishment to which the Employees' Provident Funds Act, 1952(19 of 1952), applies, the amount standing to the credit of such seaman in the Fund shall be transferred, within such time as may be specified by the Board in this behalf, to the credit of his account in the provident fund of that establishment, if the seaman so desires and the rules in relation to that provident fund permit such transfer.

Title: Powers of High Court with Respect to Subordinate Courts

Each ofthe high courts has superintendence over all courts for the time being subject to its appellatejurisdiction, and may do any of the following things, that is to say:-- (a) call for returns; (b) direct the transfer of any suit or appeal from any such court any other court of equal or superiorjurisdiction; (c) make and issue general rules and prescribe forms for regulating thepractice and proceedings of such courts; (d) prescribe forms in which books, entries and accounts shall be kept by the officers of anysuch courts; and (e) settle tables of fees tobeallowed to the sheriff, attorneys and all clerks and officers of courts: Providedthat such rules, forms and tables shallnot be inconsistent with the provisions of any 1 [law] for the timebeing in force, and shallrequire the previous approval, in the case of the high court at Calcutta, ofthe Governor-General in Council, and inother cases of the local government. _________________________ 1.
