In section 169 of the principal Act, in sub-section (2),-- (i) after clause (aa), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-- "(aaa) the form of contribution report;"; (ii) after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-- "(bb) the manner of allocation of equitable sharing of time on the cable television network and other electronic media;": (iii) after clause (h), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-- "(hh) the material to be supplied by the Government to the candidates of recognised political parties at any election to be held for the purposes of constituting the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State;".

Section 169 - Method of voting and procedure for election (1) Every elector shall have as many votes as there are members to be elected. No elector shall give more than one vote to any one candidate. (2) Subject to the provisions of this Act, election to the Zilla Panchayat shall be held by ballot in accordance with such rules as may be prescribed. (3) The provisions of sections 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31,1[31A, 31B], 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40 shall apply in respect of elections to Zilla Panchayat as they apply to elections to Grama Panchayats. ______________________ 1. Prior to omission it read as under: "and the amendment so made shall cease to have effect on the 1st day of March, 2004, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such cesser of operation, and section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (10 of 1897) shall apply upon such cesser of operation as if the amendment so made had then been repealed by a Central Act."
