1[146. Payments From or by Indian States All cash contributions and payments in respect of loans and other payments due from or by any Indian State which, if this Act had not been passed, would have formed part of the revenues of India, shall be received by His Majesty, and shall if His Majesty has so directed, be placed as the disposal of the Federation, but nothing in this Act shall derogate from the right of His Majesty, if he thinks fit so to do, to remit at any time the whole or any part of any such contributions or payments. ________________________ 1. Title: Council May Carry out Surveys and Formulate Proposals

(1) The Council May- (a) carry out a survey of the existing consumption of and demand for water supplies in New Delhi and of the water resources in or likely to be made available in New Delhi; (b) prepare an estimate of the future water supply requirements of New Delhi; (c) carry out a survey of the existing quantity or sewage collection; (d) formulate proposals as to-- (i) the existing or future water supply requirements of New Delhi; (ii) the existing or future sewage collection requirement in New Delhi including proposals for the manner in which and the place or places at which sewage should be carried and collected. (2) If the Council is of the opinion that the works and other properties for the time being vested in the Council, are inadequate for the purpose of sufficient supply of water or for the purpose of efficient collection of sewage under this Act it may take step in accordance with the provisions of this Act for the construction of additional works, whether within New Delhi or outside New Delhi with the approval of the Administrator and for the acquisition of additional properties for such works.

Title: Repeal and Savings

(1) The Karnataka Compulsory Primary Education Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 9 of 1961) and the Karnataka Private Educational Institutions (Discipline and Control) Act, 1975 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1975) are hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, any act or thing done under the said Act shall be deemed to have been done under this Act and may be continued and completed under the corresponding provisions of this Act. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, all rules, orders, notifications, Grant-in-aid Codes, appointments, schemes, bye-laws, regulations, official memoranda-circulars or any other orders made or issued before the commencement of this Act and in force on the date of such commencement providing for or relating to any of the matters for the furtherance of which this Act is enacted shall continue to be inforce and effective as if they are made under the corresponding provisions of this Act unless and until superseded by anything done or any action taken or any notification, Grant-in-aid code, rule, order, appointment. scheme, bye-law, regulation, official memorandum, circular or any other order made or issued under this Act.
