1[134. Offences to be reported Every village officer or servant useful to Government, every officer of the State Government, and (with the consent of the Central Government) every officer of the Customs and Central Excise Departments, and every officer or servant of a local authority, and the Sarpanch of a village Panchayat constituted under the Bombay Village Panchayats Act,1958 (Bom. III of 1959), shall be bound- (a) to give immediate information at the nearest police station or to any Officer or person authorised in this behalf of the commission of any offence and of the intention or preparation to commit any offence under this Act which may come to their knowledge; (b) to take all reasonable measures in their power to prevent the commission of any such offence which they may know or have reasons to believe is about or likely to be committed.] _____________________ 1. Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 134

(1) Except as is otherwise provided in this Act, members of a Taluk Panchayat elected at a general election shall hold office for a term of five years. (2) The term of office of the members elected at a general election shall commence on the date appointed for the first meeting of the Taluk Panchayat. (3) The term of office of a member elected to fill a casual vacancy shall commence on the date of publication of his name under section 134.

Indo-tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992 Section 134

Title: Commencement of Sentence of Imprisonment

Whenever any person is sentenced by a Force Court under this Act to imprisonment, the term of his sentence shall, whether it has been revised or not, be reckoned to commence on the day on which the original proceedings were signed by the presiding officer, or in the case of a Summary Force Court, by the Court : Provided that (i) if for any reason, beyond the control of the commanding officer or superior officer, the sentence of imprisonment cannot be executed in full or in part, the convict shall be liable to undergo the whole or unexpired portion of sentence, as the case may be, when it becomes possible to carry out the same; (ii) the period of detention or confinement, if any, undergone by an accused person, during the investigation, inquiry or trial of the case in which he is sentenced and before the date on which the original proceedings were signed shall be set off against the term of his sentence and the liability of such person to undergo imprisonment shall be restricted to the remainder, if any of the term of his sentence.

Title: Bequest Conditioned That It Shall Cease to Have Effect in Case a Specified Uncertain Event Shall Happen, or Not Happen

A bequest may be made with the condition super-added that it shall cease to have effect in case a specified uncertain event shall happen, or in case a specified uncertain event shall not happen. Illustrations (i) An estate is bequeathed to A for his life, with a proviso that, in case he shall cut down a certain wood, the bequest shall cease to have any effect. A cuts down the wood. He loses his life-interest in the estate. (ii) An estate is bequeathed to A, provided that, if he marries under the age of 25 without the consent of the executors named in the will, the estate shall cease to belong to him. A marries under 25 without the consent of the executors. The estate ceases to belong to him. (iii) An estate is bequeathed to A, provided that, if he shall not go to England within three years after the testator's death, his interest in the estate shall cease. A does not go to England within the time prescribed. His interest in the estate ceases. (iv) An estate is bequeathed to A, with a proviso that, if she becomes a nun, she shall cease to have any interest in the estate. A becomes a nun. She loses her interest under the will.
