In section 10 of the principal Act, in sub-section (3), in the second proviso, for clauses (i) and (ii), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely:-- "(i) does not exceed five hundred rupees, the Joint Director, Local Fund Accounts Audit or the Assistant Director, Local Fund Accounts Audit; (ii) does not exceed one thousand rupees, the Director, Local Fund Accounts Audit, may, if he considers that it ought to be condoned, condone such defect or irregularity. On such condonation, however, the officer concerned shall make a note to that effect in his report.".

In section 10 of the principal Act,-- (i) the word "Vice-Chairman" wherever it occurs shall be omitted; (ii) after the proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-- "Provided further that where a serving Government officer is appointed as a Member, he shall be deemed to have retired from the service to which he belonged on the date on which he assumed the charge of the Member but his subsequent service as Member shall, at his option, be reckoned as a post-retirement re-employment counting for pension and other retirement benefits in the service to which he belonged.".
