Title: Language in Which the Specified Warning Shall Be Expressed

State: Central

Year: 2003

(1) Where the language used on a package containing cigarettes and any other tobacco products or on its label is-- (a) English, the specified warning shall be expressed in the English language; (b) any Indian language or languages, the specified warning shall be expressed in such Indian language or languages; (c) both English and one or more Indian languages, the specified warning shall be expressed in the English language as well as in such Indian language or languages; (d) partly English and partly any Indian language or languages, the specified warning shall be expressed in the English language as well as in such Indian language or languages; (e) any foreign language, the specified warning shall be expressed in the English language; (f) partly any foreign language and partly English or any Indian language or languages the specified warning shall be expressed in the English language as well as in such Indian language or languages. (2) No package of cigarettes or any other tobacco products or its label shall contain any matter or statement which is inconsistent with, or extracts from, the specified warning.

Title: Amendment of Sixth Schedule to the Constitution

.....laws shall-- (a) extinguish or modify the existing rights and privileges of any citizen in respect of his land at the date of commencement of this Act; and (b) disallow any citizen from acquiring land either by way of inheritance, allotment, settlement or by any other way of transfer if such citizen is otherwise eligible for such acquisition of land within the Bodoland Territorial Areas District. (2) All laws made under paragraph 3 or under this paragraph shall in so far as they relate to matters specified in List III of the Seventh Schedule. be submitted forthwith to the Governor who shall reserve the same for the consideration of the President. (3) When a law is reserved for the consideration of the President, the President shall declare either that he assents to the said law or that he withholds assent therefrom: Provided that the President may direct the Governor to return the law to the Bodoland Territorial Council, together with the message requesting that the said Council will reconsider the law or any specified provisions thereof and, in particular, will consider the desirability of introducing any such amendments as he may recommend in his message and, when the.....

Title: Amendment of Article 338

In article 338 of the Constitution,-- (a) for the marginal heading, the following marginal heading shall be substituted, namely:-- "National Commission for Scheduled Castes."; (b) for clauses (1) and (2), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely :-- "(1) There shall be a Commission for the Scheduled Castes to be known as the National Commission for the Scheduled Castes. (2) Subject to the provisions of any law made in this behalf by Parliament, the Commission shall consist of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and three other Members and the conditions of service and tenure of office of the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and other Members so appointed shall be such as the President may by rule determine."; (c) in clauses (5), (9) and (10), the words "and Scheduled Tribes" wherever they occur, shall be omitted.

Title: Insertion of New Article 338a

.....welfare and development and advancement of the Scheduled Tribes as the President may, subject to the provisions of any law made by Parliament, by rule specify. (6) The President shall cause all such reports to be laid before each House of Parliament along with a memorandum explaining the action taken or proposed to be taken on the recommendations relating to the Union and the reasons for the non-acceptance, if any, of any of such recommendations. (7) Where any such report, or any part thereof, relates to any matter with which any State Government is concerned, a copy of such report shall be forwarded to the Governor of the State who shall cause it to be laid before the Legislature of the State along with a memorandum explaining the action taken or proposed to be taken on the recommendations relating to the State and the reasons for the non-acceptance, if any, of any of such recommendations. (8) The Commission shall, while investigating any matter referred to in sub-clause (a) or inquiring into any complaint referred to in sub-clause (b) of clause (5), have all the powers of a civil court trying a suit and in particular in respect of the following matters, namely:-- (a).....

In article 332 of the Constitution, in clause (6), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-- "Provided that for elections to the Legislative Assembly of the State of Assam, the representation of the Scheduled Tribes and non-Scheduled Tribes in the constituencies included in the Bodoland Territorial Areas District, so notified, and existing prior to the constitution of the Bodoland Territorial Areas District, shall be maintained.".
