..... 2. For explanation of the scope of Ss. 292 and 293, see the India and Burma (Existing Laws) Act, 19371 Edw. 8 and 1 Geo. 6,,Ch. 9), S. 9. Sub-section (1) of section 1 of the said Act is as follows:-- "1. (1) For the purposes of sections two hundred and ninety-two and two hundred and ninety- three of the Government of India Act, 1935, which provide for the existing laws of British India to continue in force therein after the date of the com­ mencement of Part III of the said Act, subject to the power of His Majesty in Council to make such adaptations and modifications in any such law as appear to His Majesty to be necessary or expedient for bringing the provisions of that law into accord with the provisions of the said Act,-- (i) a law passed or made before the said date by a Legislature or other competent Authority in British India, and not previously repealed, is, for the removal of doubts, hereby declared to be a law in force immediately before that date, notwithstanding that it, or parts of it, may not then be in operation either at all or in particular areas; (ii) any such law which immediately before the said date has extra terri­ torial effect as well.....

Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 292

Title: Assignment of Administration-bond

The Court may, on application made by petition and on being satisfied that the engagement of any such bond has not been kept, and upon such terms as to security, or providing that the money received be paid into Court, or otherwise, as the Court may think fit, assign the same to some person, his executors or administrators, who shall thereupon be entitled to sue on the said bond in his or their own name or names as if the same had been originally given to him or them instead of to the Judge of the Court, and shall be entitled to recover thereon, as trustees for all person interested, the full amount recoverable in respect of any breach thereof.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 292

Title: Licence for Work on Buildings Likely to Cause Obstruction

If any person intends to construct or demolish any building or to alter or repair the outward part thereof and if any street or foot-way is likely to be obstructed or rendered inconvenient by means of such work, he shall first obtain a licence from the Commissioner in that behalf and shall also,- (a) cause the said building to be fenced and guarded; (b) sufficiently light it during the night; and (c) take proper precautions against accidents during such time as public safety or convenience requires.

COMPANIES ACT, 2013, Section 292

Title: Exercise and control of Company Liquidator's powers

.....by the advisory committee. (3) The Company Liquidator-- (a) may summon meetings of the creditors or contributories, whenever he thinks fit, for the purpose of ascertaining their wishes; and (b) shall summon such meetings at such times, as the creditors or contributories, as the case may be, may, by resolution, direct, or whenever requested in writing to do so by not less than one-tenth in value of the creditors or contributories, as the case may be. (4) Any person aggrieved by any act or decision of the Company Liquidator may apply to the Tribunal, and the Tribunal may confirm, reverse or modify the act or decision complained of and make such further order as it thinks just and proper in the circumstances.

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 292

Title: Radio Direction Finding Apparatus

1[(1) Every Indian ship of sixteen hundred tons gross or more shall be provided with a radio direction finder of the prescribed description. 2[(2) The Central Government may, by order in writing and subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be specified therein, exempt any ship under five thousand tons gross tonnage from the obligation imposed by sub-section (1), if that Government is satisfied, having regard to the area or areas in which the ship is engaged on a voyage or voyages and the value of radio direction finder as a navigational instrument and as an aid to locating ships, aircraft or survival craft, that such compliance would be unreasonable or unnecessary.] ________________________ 1. Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 292

Title: Use of Inflammable Materials Fors Building Purposes

.....require any person who has disobeyed any such direction as aforesaid to remove or alter the roofs or walls so made or renewed. (2) The Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing, require the owner of any building in the cantonment which has an external roof or wall made of any such material as aforesaid to remove such roof or wall within such time as may be specified in the notice, notwithstanding that a public notice under sub-section (1) has not been issued or that such roof or wall was made with the consent of the Chief Executive Officer or before the issue of such public notice: Provided that, in the case of any such roof or wall in existence before the issue of such a public notice or made with the consent of the Chief Executive Officer, it shall make compensation, not exceeding the original cost of constructing the roof or wall, for any damage caused by the removal.
