Section 264 - Jurisdiction of District Judge in granting and revoking probates, etc. (1) The District Judge shall have jurisdiction in granting and revoking probates and letters of administration in all cases within his district. (2) Except in cases to which section 57 applies, no court in any local area beyond the limits of the towns of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay,1[***] shall, where the deceased is a Hindu, Muhammadan, Buddhist, Sikh or Jaina or an exempted person, receive applications for probate or letters of administration until the State Government has, by a notification in the Official Gazette, authorised it so to do. ______________________ 1. Where a mosque, temple, math or any place of religious worship or instruction or any place which is used for holding fairs, festivals or other like purposes in the city or in its neighbourhood, attracts on particular occasions, a large number of persons the Commissioner shall make special arrangements whether permanent or temporary which may be necessary in the interests of public health, safety or convenience and require the trustee or other person having control over such place to make such recurring or non-recurring contribution to the funds of the corporation as the Government may determine.

Cantonments Act, 1924 Section 264

Title: Meetings and Powers of Committees of Arbitration

(1) When a Committee of Arbitration has been duly constituted, the1[Board] shall, by notice in writing, inform each of the members of the fact, and the Committee shall meet as soon as may be thereafter. (2) The Chairman of the Committee shall fix the time and place of meetings, and shall have power to adjourn any meeting from time to time as may be necessary. (3) The Committee shall receive and record evidence, and shall have power to administer oaths to witnesses, and, on requisition in writing signed by the Chairman of the Committee, the District Magistrate shall issue the necessary processes for the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents required by the Committee, and may enforce the said processes as if they were processes for attendance or production before himself. ________________________ 1. .....Provinces, and any such agreement may contain such incidental and conse-equential provisions as may appear necessary or desirable forgiving effect to the purposes of the agreement and shall, in thecase of an agreement that there shall be one Commission for a group of Provinces, specify by that Governor or Governors the functions which are under this Part of this Act to be dischargedby the Governor of a Province are to be discharged. (3) The Public Service Commission for the Federation if requested so to do by the Governor of a Province may, with the approval of the Governor-General, agree to serve all or any of the needs of the Province. (4) References in this Act to the Federal Public Service Commission or a Provincial Public Service Commission shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as references to the Commission serving the needs of the Federation or, as the case may be, the Province as respects the particular matter in question.

New Delhi Municipal Council Act 1994 Section 264

Title: Duty of Owners and Occupiers to Collect and Deposit Rubbish, Etc.

It shall be the duty of the owners and occupiers of all premises-- (a) to have the premises swept and cleaned; (b) to cause all filth, rubbish and other polluted and obnoxious matter to be collected from their respective premises and to be deposited at such times as the Chairperson, by public notice prescribes, in public receptacles, depots or places provided or appointed under section 263 for the temporary deposit or final disposal thereof; (c) to provide receptacles of the type and in the manner prescribed by the Chairperson for the collection therein of all filth, rubbish and other polluted and obnoxious matter from such premises and to keep such receptacles in good condition and repair.

Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 264

Title: Improper Use of Land

(1) If, in the opinion of the Chief Executive Officer, the working of a quarry in the cantonment, or the removal of stone, earth or other material from the soil in any place in the cantonment, is dangerous to persons residing in or frequenting the neighbourhood or such quarry or place, or creates, or is likely to create, a nuisance, the Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing, prohibit the owner, lessee or occupier of such quarry or place or the person responsible for such working or removal, from continuing or permitting the working of such quarry or the moving of such material, or require him to take such steps in the matter as he may direct for the purpose of preventing danger or abating the nuisance arising or likely to arise therefrom. (2) If, in any case referred to in sub-section (1), the Chief Executive Officer is of opinion that such a course is necessary in order to prevent imminent danger, he may, by order in writing, require a proper hoarding or fence to be put up for the protection of passers-by.
