Government of India Act, 1935 [Repealed] Section 252

Title: Conditions of Service of Existing Staff of High Commissioner and Auditor of India Home Accounts

State: Central

.....for India or, as the case may be, of the Auditor of Indian Home Accounts. (2) All such persons aforesaid shall hold their offices or posts subject to like conditions of service as to remuneration, pensions or otherwise, as therefore, or not less favourable conditions, and shall be entitled to reckon for purposes of pension any service which they would have been, entitled to reckon if this Act had not been passed. (3) The salaries, allowances and pensions payable to, or in respect ofsuch of the persons aforesaid as were members of the staff of the Auditorof the accounts of the Secretary of State in Council shall be charged on therevenues of the Federation, and the salaries, allowances and pensions pay-able to, or in respect of, other such persons as aforesaid shall be so chargedin so far as those salaries, allowances and pensions would, but for the passingof this Act, have been payable without being submitted to the vote of theLegislative Assembly of the Indian Legislature. ________________________ 1. Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 252

Title: Administration Limited to Purpose of Becoming Party to Suit to Be Brought Against Administrator

If, at the expiration of twelve months from the date of any probate or letters of administration, the executor or administrator to whom the same has been granted is absent from the State within which the Court which has granted the probate or letters of administration exercises jurisdiction, the court may grant, to any person whom it may think fit, letters of administration limited to the purpose of becoming and being made a party to a suit to be brought against the executor or administrator, and carrying the decree which may be made therein into effect.

Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 252

Title: Power to Write off Irrecoverable Sums

State: Karnataka

Subject to such restrictions as may be prescribed, a Taluk Panchayat may write off any sum due to it, whether under a contract or otherwise, or any sum payable in connection therewith if, in its opinion, such sum is irrecoverable: Provided that, no sum exceeding one thousand rupees shall be written off except with the previous sanction of the Zilla Panchayat.

Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 252

Title: Probibition of Structures or Fixtures Which Cause Obstruction in Streets

(1) No person shall, except with the permission of the Chief Executive Officer, erect or set up any wall, fence, nail, post, step, booth or other structure whether fixed or movable or whether of a permanent or temporary nature, or any fixture in or upon any street so as to form an obstruction to, or an encroachment upon, or a projection over, or to occupy any portion of such street, channel, drain, well or tank, (2) The Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing, require the owner or occupier of any such building to alter or remove any such projection or encroachment as aforesaid: Provided that, in the case of any projection or encroachment lawfully in existence at the commencement of this Act, the Chief Executive Officer shall make compensation for any damage caused by the removal or alteration. (3) The Chief Executive Officer may, by order in writing, give permission to the owners or occupiers of buildings in any particular street to put up open verandahs, balconies or rooms projecting from any upper storey thereof to an extent beyond the line of the plinth or basement wall at such height from the level ground or street as may be specified in the order.

No person shall, without the written permission of the Chairperson, or otherwise than in conformity with the conditions, if any, of such permission-- (a) use or permit to be used for human habitation any part of a building not originally erected or authorised to be used for that purpose or not used for that purpose before any alteration has been made therein by any work executed in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the bye-laws made thereunder; (b) change or allow the change of the use of any land or building; (c) convert or allow the conversion of one kind of tenement into another kind.

Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) Section 252

Title: Possession of Coin by Person Who Knew It to Be Altered when He Became Possessed Thereof

State: Central

Year: 1860

Whoever, fraudulently or with intent that fraud may be committed, is in possession of coin with respect to which the offence defined in cither of the section 246 or 248 has been committed, having known at the time of becoming possessed thereof that such offence had been committed with respect to such coin, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, and shall also be liable to fine.
