Government of India Act, 1935 [Repealed] Section 180

Title: Contracts in Connection with Functions of Crown in Its Relations with Indian States

State: Central

.....in respect of any such contract as aforesaid may be brought by or against the Secretary of State and if at the commencement of Part III of this Act any proceedings in respect of any such contract are pending in the United Kingdom or in India to which the Secretary of State in Council is a party, the Secretary of State shall be deemed to be substituted in those proceedings for the Secretary of State in Council. (3) Any contract made after the commencement of Part III of this Act on behalf of His Majesty solely in connection with the exercise of the said functions of the Crown shall, if it is such a contract as would have been legally enforceable by or against the Secretary of State in Council, belegally enforceable by or against the Secretary of State. (4) Any sums ordered to be paid by the Secretary of State by way ofdebt, damages or casts in any such proceedings as are mentioned in this section and any costs or expenses incurred by him in or in connection with the prosecution or defence thereof shall be deemed to be sums required for the discharge of the functions of the Crown in its relations with Indian States, and any sum received by the Secretary of State by virtue.....

Title: Suit by Bailor or Bailee Against Wrong-doer

If a third person wrongfully deprives the bailee of the use or possession of the goods bailed, or does them any injury, the bailee is entitled to use such remedies as the owner might have used in the like case if no bailment had been made; and either the bailor or the bailee may bring a suit against a third person for such deprivation or injury.

Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 180

Title: Service of Notice

(1) Every notice, bill, form, summons or notice of demand under this Act, may-- (a) be served personally on or presented to the person to whom the same is addressed; or (b) if it cannot be so served, presented or delivered, be affixed on some conspicuous part of his place of abode or of the land, building or other thing in respect of which the notice, bill, form, summons or notice of demand is intended to be served; or (c) be sent by post in registered cover. (2) Every such notice, bill, form, summons or notice of demand shall be signed by or bear a facsimile signature of Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson or any other officer authorised by the Chairperson in that behalf.

Title: Refusing to Sign Statement

Whoever refuses to sign any statement made by him, when required to sign that statement by a public servant legally competent to require that he shall sign that statement, shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.

Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 180

Title: Meetings of Zilla Panchayat

.....referred to as the ordinary meeting) and shall subject to the provisions of the following sub-sections, make regulations not inconsistent with this Act, or with any rules made thereunder with respect to the day, hour, notice, management and adjournment of its meetings and generally with respect to the transaction of business thereto. Every meeting of the Zilla Panchayat shall ordinarily be held at the headquarters of the Zilla Panchayat. (2) (a) The date of the first meeting of the Zilla Panchayat after the first constitution or reconstitution, 1 [or the date of subsequent meeting for the purpose of election of Adhyaksha or Upadhyaksha as the case may be] shall be fixed by the Commissioner who shall preside at such meeting and date of each subsequent ordinary meeting shall be fixed at the previous meeting of the Zilla Panchayat, provided that the Adhyaksha of Zilla Panchayat may for sufficient reasons, alter the date of the meeting to a subsequent date. Cantonments Act, 2006 Section 180

At every hospital or dispensary maintained or aided under section 178, the sick poor of the cantonment, and other inhabitants of the cantonment suffering from infectious, communicable or contagious disease, and, with the sanction of the Board, any other sick persons, may receive medical or surgical treatment free of cost, and, if treated as in-patients, shall be either dieted gratuitously or, if the medical officer in charge so directs, shall be granted subsistence allowance on such scale as the Board may fix.
