1[123. Governor-General may require Governors to Discharge Certain Functions as His Agents (1) The Governor-General may direct the Governor of any Province to discharge as his agent, either generally or in any particular case, such functions in and in relation to the tribal areas as may be specified in the direction. (2) If in any particular case it appears to the Governor-General necessary or convenient so to do, he may direct the Governor of any Province todischarge as his agent such functions in relation to defence, external affairs,or ecclesiastical affairs as may be specified in the direction. 1 123.Transfer how effected For the purpose of making a gift ofimmoveable property, the transfer must be effected by a registered instrumentsigned by or on behalf of the donor, and attested by at least two witnesses. For the purpose of making a gift of moveable property, the transfer maybe effected either by a registered instrument signed as aforesaid or bydelivery. Such delivery may be made in thesame way as goods sold may be delivered. _____________________ 1. Section 123 - Court-fees 1[(1)] Notwithstanding anything contained in the2[Karnataka] Court-fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1958, every application or appeal made under this Act to the3[Court],4[Tahsildar] Assistant Commissioner,5[Tribunal] Deputy Commissioner, the3[District Court] or the2[Karnataka Appellate Tribunal] or other authority shall bear a court-fee stamp of such value as may be prescribed. 6[(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Karnataka Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1958 (Karnataka Act 16 of 1958), no court fee shall be payable on every appeal treated as a writ petition by the High Court under section 17 of the Karnataka Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 1990.] _______________________________ 1. Title: Immaterial Error Not to Affect Liability

No assessment and no charge or demand on account of any tax shall be impeached or affected by reason only of any mistake in the name, residence, place of business or occupation of any person liable to pay the tax or in the description of any property or thing, or of any mistake in the amount of the assessment, charge or demand, or by reason only of clerical error or other defect of form, if the directions contained in this Act and the bye-laws made thereunder have in substance and effect been complied with and it shall be enough in the case of any such tax on property or any assessment of value for the purpose of any such tax, if the property taxed or assessed is so described as to be generally known; and it shall not be necessary to name the owner or occupier thereof.

The1[Director of Agricultural Marketing] or any officer authorised by him by general or special order in this behalf, may,- (a) inspect or cause to be inspected the accounts and offices of a market committee; (b) hold inquiry into the affairs of a market committee; (c) call for any return, statement, accounts or report which he may think fit to require such committee to furnish; (d) require a committee to take into consideration,- (i) any objection on the ground of illegality or inexpediency or impropriety which appears to him to exist to the doing of anything which is about to be done or is being done by or on behalf of such committee; or (ii) any information he is able to furnish and which appears to him to necessitate the doing of a certain thing by such committee; and to make a written reply to him within a reasonable time stating its reasons for doing, or not doing such thing; (e) direct that anything which is about to be done or is being done should not be done, pending consideration of the reply, and anything which should be done but is not being done should be done within such time as he may direct. _______________ 1. .....sale, purchase, consumption or use of any intoxicant, hemp, mhowra flowers, molasses or any article which is likely to be used for the manufacture of an intoxicant with or without licence, permit, pass or authorisation throughout the State, or within the limits of any local area, subject to such conditions and for such periods as it deems fit; (c) exempt any person or institution or any class of persons or institutions from the observance of all or any of the provisions of this Act, or any rule or regulation or order made thereunder; (d) exempt any intoxicant or class of intoxicants from all or any of the provisions of this Act; (e) direct that no licence, permit, pass or authorisation of the kind specified in such order, shall be granted without the previous approval of the State Government; (f) direct any conditions or alterations to be made to or in the conditions subject to which under any other provisions of this Act, such licence, permit, pass or authorisation can be granted; (g) specify the persons or class of persons to whom licences may not be granted; (h) direct that licences of the kind specified in such order shall be granted to persons specified.....
