.....after he attains the age of sixty-five years. (4B) For the removal of doubt, it is hereby declared that, notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the terms of any contract of service or the term of office of any person who, on the date of commencement of the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities (Krishi Vidyapeeths) (Amendment) Act, 1989, continues to hold the office of the Vice-Chancellor of any University:- (a) after having completed three years or more in such office or attained the age of sixty -five years ; or (b) completes three years in such office after the date of such commencement, shall cease to hold such office on the date of such commencement or, as the case may be, on the date of completion of three years in such office, and accordingly such person shall be deemed to have vacated such office on the respective such date and such office shall be deemed to be vacant on such date. (5) The Vice-Chancellor may, after giving three months' notice, resign his office, by tendering his resignation in writing to the Chancellor. Title: Power to Prohibit Emigration of Any Class or Category of Persons

(1) Where the Central Government considers that in the interests of the general public, emigration of any class or category of persons, having regard to their age, sex or other relevant factors, to any country should be prohibited, it may, by notification, prohibit the emigration to such country of such class or category of persons as may be specified in the notification. (2) A notification issued under sub-section (1) shall have effect for such period not exceeding six months as may be specified in the notification: Provided that if the Central Government has reason to believe that any of the grounds mentioned in sub-section (1) continues to exist, it may, from time to time, by notification, prohibit emigration of such class or category of persons to that country for such further period, not exceeding six months on each occasion, as may be specified in the notification.

Title: Offences by Companies

.....punished accordingly: Provided that nothing contained in this sub-section shall render any such person liable to any punishment, if he proves that the offence was committed without his knowledge or that he had exercised all due diligence to prevent the commission of such offence. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), where an offence under this Act has been committed by a company and it is proved that the offence has been committed with the consent or connivance of, or is attributable to any neglect on the part of, any director, manager, secretary or other officer of the company, such director, manager, secretary or other officer shall also be deemed to be guilty of that offence and shall be liable to be proceeded against and punished accordingly. Explanation.-- For the purposes of this section,-- (a) "company" means any body corporate and includes a firm or other association of individuals; and (b) "director", in relation to a firm, means a partner in the firm.

Title: Upgradation of Educational Institutions Etc.

(1) Any local authority or any person or registered body of persons intending to,- (a) open higher classes in an institution registered under this Act imparting education; or (b) upgrade any such institution, may make an application to the registering authority for grant of permission therefor within such period and in such form accompanied by such fee as may be prescribed. (2) Subject to such rules as may be prescribed, the provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 31 shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to the granting of permission on such application. (3) Where permission is granted under this section the certificate of registration issued to the institution shall be altered or modified accordingly.

In section 32 of the Income-tax Act, in sub-section (1), with effect from the 1st day of April, 1984, - (a) in clause (ii), in the first proviso, for the words "seven hundred and fifty rupees" the words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in clause (iv), the woeds, brackets and figures "but any such sum shall not be deductible in determining the written down value for the purposes of clause (ii) of sub-section (1);" shall be omitted; (c) in clause (v), the words, brackets and figures "but any such sum shall not be deductible in determining the written down value for the purposes of clause (ii);" shall be omitted.
