IV-B, p. 2713) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 4 of the Bombay Animal Contagious Diseases (Control) Act, 1948 (Bom. LIX of 1948), the Government of Bombay is pleased to appoint all Stockmen in the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Department of the Bombay State to be the Inspectors for all the purposes of the said Act and for the areas within their respective jurisdictions within which they shall exercise the powers and perform the duties of an Inspector under the said Act. G. N., A. & F. D., No. DIS. 1660-G, dated 3rd September, 1960 (M. G., Pt. IV-B, p. 190) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Bombay Animal Contagious Diseases (Control) (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1960 (Mah. .....may, at the request in writing of a Veterinary Officer, arrest without warrant any person who has been concerned in any offence under this Act. Section 31 - Cognizance of offences No magistrate shall take cognizance of an offence under this Act, except upon the complaint or report of a Veterinary Officer. Section 32 - Jurisdiction of magistrates No magistrate shall try any offence under this Act unless he is a magistrate of the first class or a magistrate of the second class, specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government. Section 33 - Bar of claim to compensation No person shall be entitled to any compensation in respect of the destruction of any animal or thing or of any other loss, injury, detriment or inconvenience caused to him by reason of anything done under this Act in good faith. Section 34 - Protection of officers taking action under this Act (1) No prosecution or other proceedings shall lie against any officer or servant of the State Government for any act done or purporting to be done under this Act, without the previous sanction of the State Government. The Bombay Animal Contagious Diseases (Control) Act, 1948 (Bombay Act LIX of 1948), as in force in the1[Belgaum Area], the Madras Cattle Disease Act, 1866 (Madras Act II of 1866), and the Madras Rinderpest Act, 1940 (Madras Act XIX of 1940), as in force in the1[Mangalore and Kollegal Area] , the Coorg Animal Contagious Diseases Act, 1941 (Coorg Act IV of 1941), as in force in the Coorg District, the Mysore Diseases of Animals Act, 1949 (Mysore Act XXI of 1949), as in force in the Mysore Area, the Glanders and Farcy Act, 1899 (Central Act No. XIII of 1899), and the Dourine Act, 1910 (Central Act No. X of 1910), as in force in the1[Belgaum] and the1[ Mangalore and Kollegal Areas] are hereby repealed : Provided that section 6 of the1[Karnataka] General Clauses Act, 1899 (1[Karnataka] Act III of 1899), shall be applicable in respect of the repeal of the said enactments and sections 8 and 24 of the1[Karnataka] General Clauses Act, 1899, shall be applicable as if the said enactments had been repealed and re-enacted by a1[Karnataka Act]. ______________________ 1. .....AND CONTROL OF INFECTIOUS AND CONTAGIOUS DISEASES IN ANIMALS ACT, 2009 27 OF 2009 Enforce, w.e.f. the date to be notified-The Glanders and Farcy Act, 1899 and the Dourine Act, 1910-Repeal The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 20th March, 2009, and is hereby published for general information:- An Act to provide for the prevention, control and eradication of infectious and contagious diseases affecting animals, for prevention of outbreak or spreading of such diseases from one State to another, and to meet the international obligations of India for facilitating import and export of animals and animal products and for matters connected therewith, or incidental thereto. Whereas economic losses due to infectious and contagious diseases of animals are enormous in the country with some of these diseases constituting a serious threat to the public; And whereas many of such animal diseases can be largely prevented by judicious implementation of vaccination programmes or by taking other appropriate and timely measures on scientific lines; And whereas such measures are necessary to facilitate the import and export of animals and animal products and.....

THE RAJASTHAN ANIMAL DISEASES ACT., 1959 THE RAJASTHAN ANIMAL DISEASES ACT., 1959 (Act No. 5 of 1959) (Received the assent of the Governor on the 15th day of January , 1959) An Act to provide for the prevention and control of disease affecting animal. Be it enacted by the Rajasthan State Legislature in the Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- 1. Short title, extent and commencement. -- (1) This Act may be called the Rajasthan Animal Disease Act, 1959. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Rajasthan. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2.
