Transfer of Property Act, 1882 Section 126

Title: When Gift May Be Suspended or Revoked

State: Central

Year: 1882

The donor and donee may agree that on the happening of any specified event which does not depend on the will of the donor a gift shall be suspended or revoked; but a gift which the parties agree shall be revocable wholly or in part, at the mere will of the donor, is void wholly or in part, as the case may be. A gift may also be revoked in any of the cases (save want or failure of consideration) in which, if it were a contract, it might be rescinded Save as aforesaid, a gift cannot be revoked. Nothing contained in this section shall be deemed to affect the rights of transferees for consideration without notice Illustrations (a) A gives a field to B, reserving to himself, with B's assent, the right to take back the field in case B and his descendants die before A. B dies without descendants in A's lifetime. A may take back the field. (b) A gives a lakh of rupees to B, reserving to himself, with B's assent, the right to take back at pleasure Rs.10,000 out of the lakh. The gift holds good as to Rs.90,000, but is void as to Rs.10,000 which continue to belong to A.

Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961 Section 49

Title: Power to Revoke or Vary Town Planning Scheme

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 48, a Town Planning scheme may at any time be varied or revoked by a subsequent scheme made, published and sanctioned in accordance with this Act. (2) The State Government,- (a) on the application of the Planning Authority, or (b) of its own motion, after making such enquiry as it deems fit and after giving the Planning Authority an opportunity to be heard, may at any time, after consulting the Director, by notification, revoke a Town Planning scheme if it is satisfied that under the special circumstances of the case the scheme should be revoked.

Title: Power to Revoke or Suspend Licence

Transfer of Property Act, 1882 Section 42

Title: Transfer by Person Having Authority to Revoke Former Transfer

State: Central

Year: 1882

Where a person transfers any immoveable property, reserving power to revoke the transfer, and subsequently transfers the property for consideration to another transferee, such transfer operates in favour of such transferee (subject to any condition attached to the exercise of the power) as a revocation of the former transfer to the extent of the power. Illustration A lets a house to B, and reserves power to revoke the lease if, in the opinion of a specified surveyor, B should make a use of it detrimental to its value. Afterwards a, thinking that such a use has been made, lets the house to C. This operates as a revocation of B's lease subject to the opinion of the surveyor as to B's use of the house having been detrimental to its value.

Section 264 - Jurisdiction of District Judge in granting and revoking probates, etc. (1) The District Judge shall have jurisdiction in granting and revoking probates and letters of administration in all cases within his district. (2) Except in cases to which section 57 applies, no court in any local area beyond the limits of the towns of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay,1[***] shall, where the deceased is a Hindu, Muhammadan, Buddhist, Sikh or Jaina or an exempted person, receive applications for probate or letters of administration until the State Government has, by a notification in the Official Gazette, authorised it so to do. ______________________ 1. Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 297

Title: Payment to Executor or Administrator Before Probate or Administration Revoked

Year: 1925

When a grant of probate or letters of administration is revoked, all payments bonafide made to any executor or administrator under such grant before the revocation thereof shall, notwithstanding such revocation, be a legal discharge to the person making the same; and the executor or administrator who has acted under any such revoked grant may retain and reimburse himself in respect of any payments made by him which the person to whom probate or letters of administration may afterwards be granted might have lawfully made.

Title: Power to Revoke or Suspend a Licence

Karnataka Electricity Reform Act, 1999 Section 24

Title: Provisions Where the Licence is Revoked

(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 6 and 7 of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, where the Commission revokes a license, under sub-section (2) of section 22 the following provisions shall apply:- (a) The Commission shall serve a notice of revocation upon the licensee and shall fix a date on which the revocation shall take effect. (b) The Commission shall invite applications for acquiring the undertaking of the licensee whose license has been revoked and determine the terms and conditions of the sale of the undertaking; (c) The Commission may by notice in writing require the licensee to sell, and thereupon the licensee shall sell the undertaking to the person whose application has been accepted by the Commission. Such person is referred to in this section as the "purchaser"; and (d) The Commission may make such interim arrangement in regard to the undertaking of the licensee for maintaining the electricity transmission and supply as may be considered appropriate including the appointment of administrators and additional directors for the undertaking; (e) On and with effect from the date of revocation or where the undertaking of the licensee is sold to a.....
