.....Act, 1955, or under section 12 of that Act in so far as it relates to satta gambling or on two or more occasions under any other provisions of that Act (including section 12 of that Act in so far as it does not relate to satta gambling); or (c) of any offence under the Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls Act, 1956; or (d) of any offence under section 25, section 26, section 27, section 28 or section 29 of the Arms Act, 1959; or (e) of any offence under section 135 of the Customs Act, 1962; or (f) of any offence under section 61, section 63 or section 66, of the Punjab Excise Act, 1955, as in Delhi; or (g) on two or more occasions of an offence under (i) the Opium Act, 1878; or (ii) the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1930; or (iii) the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940; or (iv) section 11 of the Bombay Prevention of Begging Act, 1959, as in force in Delhi; or (h) on three or more occasions of an offence under section 105 or section 107 of this Act, the Commissioner of Police may, if he has reason to believe that such person is likely again to engage himself in the commission of any of the offences referred to in this section, by order in writing, direct such.....

.....to the Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 1961, which are considered necessary in the light of experience gained in the administration of the Act. SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Deposit Insurance Corporation (Amendment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1978. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act; and any reference in any provision to the commencement of this Act shall be constituted as a reference to the commencement of that provision. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS -In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Company" means the Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited, a Company formed and registered under the Companies Act, 195,6 (1 of 1956), and having its registered office at Bombay; (b) "Corporation" means the Deposit Insurance Corporation established under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Deposit Insurance Corporation Act, 1961 (47 of 1961) ; (c) "re-named Corporation" means 'the Corporation last re-named in accordance with the provisions of Section 4;.....

Title: Acquisition and Transfer of Undertaking of the Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited

.....of the balance in the hands of the person or body of persons authorised under sub-section (1); or (b) the payment of such balance into the general revenue account of the Central Government; and (c) the disposal of the books and papers of the Company. (7) A copy of the order' made by the Central Government for the dissolution of the Company shall be filed by the re-named Corporation with the Registrar of Companies within thirty days from the date of such order and the Registrar of Companies shall give effect to the said order as if it were an order made by the court for the dissolution of the Company. (8) The provisions of this section shall have effect notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Companies Act, 1956 1 of 1956, or in any other law for the time being in force.

Title: General Effect of Merger

.....and to which either the Corporation or the Company is a party or which are in favour of either the Corporation, or the Company shall be of as full force and effect against or in favour of the re-named Corporation, and may be enforced or acted upon as fully and effectually as if in place of the Corporation or the Company, as the case may be, the re-named Corporation had been a party thereto or as if they had been issued in favour of the re-named Corporation. (2) If, immediately before the commencement of this Act, any suit, appeal or other proceeding of whatever nature, in relation to any business of the undertaking of the Corporation or of the Company, instituted or preferred by or against the Corporation or the Company, is pending, the same shall not abate, be discontinued or be in any way prejudicially affected, by reason of the transfer of the undertaking of the Company to the Corporation or the merger of the undertaking of the Company with the undertaking of the Corporation, or of anything contained in this Act, but the suit, appeal or other proceeding may be continued, prosecuted and enforced by or against the re-named Corporation.

The Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 1978 Complete Act

In the Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation) Act, 1971 (referred to in this Act as the principal Act), in Section 2, in clause (e) for the word "and" occurring between the words "Rabhas" and "Kacharis" a comma "(,)" shall be substituted and between the words ˜Kacharis' and "resident" the words "and Koobes" shall be inserted. Amendment of Section 3 of the principal Act. 3. In the principal Act, in Section 3,- (A) For the full-stop "(.)" at the end of subsection (1) a colon "(;)" shall be substituted ; (B) The following proviso to sub-section (1) shall be inserted, namely:- "Provided that the Government of Meghalaya, if satisfied may, from time, by notification, prohibit such transfer of land within such area or areas as may be specified in the notification and thereupon the competent authority shall not sanction any such transfer of land under the provision of this Act, within such area or areas."
