Maharashtra State Commission for Safai Karmacharis Act, 1997 Complete Act

.....fit for performing the functions under this Act, and such sums of money shall be treated as expenditure payable out of the grants referred to in sub-section (1). SECTION 10: ACCOUNTS AND AUDIT (1)The Commission shall maintain proper accounts and other relevant records and prepare an annual statement of accounts in such form as may be prescribed by the State Government in consultation with the Accountant General of the State of Maharashtra. (2)The annual accounts of the commission shall be audited by the Accountant General of the State at such intervals as may be specified by him and any expenditure incurred in connection with such audit shall be payable by the Commission to the Accountant General. (3)The Accountant General and any person appointed by him in connection with the audit of the accounts of the Commission under this Act, shall have the same right and privileges and the authority in connection with such audit as the Accountant General generally has in connection with the audit of Government accounts and, in particular, shall have the right to demand the production of books, accounts, connected vouchers and other documents and papers and to inspect any of the offices of.....

(1) If any person contravenes, or attempts to contravene, or abets the contraventions of, any of the provisions of this Act or rules he shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, or with fine. (2) Whoever, after conviction under sub-section (1), continues the contravention, he shall, on conviction, be punishable with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees for everyday, after the first day, during which such contravention continued. 17. Offence by companies. (1) Where an offence under this Act has been committed by a company, every person who, at the time the offence was committed, was in charge of and was responsible to, the company for the conduct of the business of the company, as well as the company, shall be deemed to be guilty of the offence and shall be liable to be proceeded against and punished accordingly:- Provided that nothing contained in this section shall tender any such person liable to any punishment provided in this Act if he proves that the offence was committed without his knowledge or that he had exercised all cue.....

(5) The Registrar shall communicate by registered post to theCo-operative within a period of fifteen days after registration a copy of the amendment so registered together with a certificate duly signed and sealed by him and such certificate shall be conclusive evidence that the amendment has been duly registered. A copy of such certificate and registered amendment shall be sent to the FederalCo-operative.
