Act No.1/2012 TAMIL NADU CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES (APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL OFFICERS) AMENDMENT ACT, 2012 (Received the Assent of the Governor of Tamil Nadu on February 9, 2012 " Published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, Part IV, Section 2, Iss. No.32, page 62, dated February 9, 2012). An Act further to amend the. Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Act, 1976. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Sixty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:" 1. Short title and commencement. " (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Amendment Act, 2012. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 4." In Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Appointment of Special Officers) Act, 1976 (President's Act 25 of 1976), in sub-section (1), for the expression "thirty five years and eight months", the expression "thirty six years and two months" shall be substituted. Title: Terms of Office Of, Vacancies Among, and Allowances Payable to Members of Executive Council

(1) The term of office of every member of the Executive Council shall be for a period of three years from the date of his nomination: Provided that the term of office of an ex officio member shall continue so long as he holds the office by virtue of which he is a member. (2) The term of office of a member nominated to fill a casual vacancy shall be for the remainder of the term of the member in whose place he has been nominated. (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in this section, an out-going member shall, unless the Central Government otherwise directs, continue in office until another person is nominated as a member in his place or until the expiry of one year, whichever is earlier. (4) The members of the Executive Council, other than ex officio members, shall be paid such travelling and other allowances as may be provided by the Statutes.
