METRO RAILWAYS (CONSTRUCTION OF WORKS) ACT, 1978 METRO RAILWAYS (CONSTRUCTION OF WORKS) ACT, 1978 33 of 1978 21st August, 1978 An Act to provide for the construction of works relating to metro railways in the metropolitan cities and for matters connected therewith. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, COMMENCEMENT AND APPLICATION (1) This Act may be called the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
