.....to, or appearing upon, any package; (i) "package" includes a wrapper, box, carton, tin or other container; (j) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (k) "production", with its grammatical variations and cognate expressions, includes the making of cigarettes, cigars, cheroots, beedis, cigarette tobacco, pipe tobacco, hookah tobacco, chewing tobacco, pan masala or any chewing material having tobacco as one of its ingredients (by whatever name called) or snuff and shall include-- (i) packing, labelling or relabelling, of containers; (ii) repacking from bulk packages to retail packages; and (iii) the adoption of any other method to render the tobacco product marketable; (l) "public place" means any place to which the public have access, whether as of right or not, and includes auditorium, hospital buildings, railway waiting room, amusement centres, restaurants, public offices, Court buildings, educational institutions, libraries, public conveyances and the like which are visited by general public but does not include any open space; (m) "sale", with its grammatical variations and cognate expressions, means any transfer of property in goods by.....

.....(Amendment) Act, 2007, Dated 28.05.2007. Section 155 - Special Court to have powers of Court of session Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, insofar as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, shall apply to the procedings before the Special Court and for the purpose of the provisions of the said enactments, the Special Court shall be deemed to be a Court of Session and shall have all powers of a Court of Session and the person conducting a prosecution before the Special Court shall be deemed to be a Public Prosecutor. Section 156 - Appeal and revision The High Court may exercise, so far as may be applicable, all the powers conferred by Chapters XXIX and XXX of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), as if the Special Court within the local limits of the jurisdiction of the High Court is District Court, or as the case may be, the Court of Session, trying cases within the local limits of jurisdiction of the High Court. The Special Court may, on a petition or otherwise and in order to prevent miscarriage of justice, review its judgment or order passed under section 154, but no such review petition shall be entertained except on the ground that it was such order passed under a mistake of fact, ignorance of any material fact or any error apparent on the face of the record: PROVIDED that the Special Court shall not allow any review petition and set aside its previous order or judgement without hearing the parties affected. Explanation: For the purposes of this Part, "Special Courts" means the Special Courts constituted under sub-section (1) of section 153.

Electricity Act, 2003 Part XVII

Title: Notice of Accidents and Inquiries

.....Inspector, or any other person appointed by it in this behalf, to inquire and report-- (a) as to the cause of any accident affecting the safety of the public, which may have been occasioned by or in connection with, the generation, transmission, distribution, supply or use of electricity, or (b) as to the manner in, and extent to, which the provisions of this Act or rules and regulations made thereunder or of any licence, so far as those provisions affect the safety of any person, have been complied with. Title: Validation of Acts and Proceedings of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council During Certain Period

All things done and all steps taken by the Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh during the period commencing on the 9th day of November, 2000 and ending on the day on which the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2003 receives the assent of the President shall be deemed to have been validly and effectively done or taken as if the provisions of section 18 of the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000(29 of 2000), as substituted by section 2 of this Act were in force at all material times such things were done or such steps were taken.

Title: Manner in Which Specified Warning Shall Be Made

State: Central

(1) The specified warning on a package of cigarettes or any other tobacco products shall be-- (a) legible and prominent; (b) conspicuous as to size and colour; (c) In such style or type of lettering as to be boldly and clearly presented in distinct contrast to any other type, lettering or graphic material used on the package or its label and shall be printed, painted or inscribed on the package in a colour which contrasts conspicuously with the background of the package or its labels. (2) The manner in which a specified warning shall be printed, painted or inscribed on a package of cigarettes or any other tobacco products shall be such as may be specified in the rules made under this Act. (3) Every package containing cigarettes or any other tobacco products shall be so packed as to ensure that the specified warning appearing thereon, or on its label, is, before the package is opened, visible to the consumer.
