THE PUNJAB STATE LEGISLATURE (DELEGATION OF POWERS) ACT, 1984 [Act, No. 36 of 1984] [26th May, 1984] PREAMBLE An Act to confer on the President the power of the Legislature of the State of Punjab to make laws. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:

Title: Conferment on the President of the Power of the State Legislature to Make Laws

.....he considers it practicable to do so, consult a Committee constituted for the purpose, consisting of thirty members of the House of the People nominated by the Speaker and fifteen members of the Council of States nominated by the Chairman. (3) Every Act enacted by the President under sub-section (2) shall, as soon as may be after enactment, be laid before each House of Parliament. (4) Either House of Parliament may, by resolution passed within thirty days from the date on which the Act has been laid before it under sub-section (3) which period may be comprised in one session or in two successive sessions, direct any modifications to be made in the Act and if the modifications are agreed to by the other House of Parliament during the session in which the Act has been so laid before it or the session succeeding, such modifications shall be given effect to by the President by enacting an amending Act under sub-section (2): Provided that nothing this sub-section shall affect the validity of the Act or of any action taken thereunder before it is so amended.

.....in the Second Schedule are hereby amended to the extent and in the manner mentioned in the fourth column thereof. 4. Savings The repeal by this Act of any enactment shall not affect any other enactment in which the repealed enactment has been applied, incorporated or referred to; and this Act shall not affect the validity, invalidity, effect or consequences of anything already done or suffered, or any right, title, obligation or liability already acquired, accrued or incurred, or any remedy or proceeding in respect thereof, or any release or discharge of or from any debt, penalty, obligation, liability, claim or demand, or any indemnity already granted, or the proof of any past act or thing; nor shall this Act affect any principle or rule or law, or established jurisdiction, form or course of pleading, practice or procedure, or existing usage, custom, privilege, restriction, exemption, office or appointment, notwithstanding that the same respectively may have been in any manner affirmed or recognised or derived by, in or from any enactment hereby repealed; nor shall the repeal by this Act of any enactment revive or restore any jurisdiction, office, custom, liability,.....

Industrial Reconstruction Bank of India Act, 1984 Chapter VIII

Title: Special Powers of the Reconstruction Bank

.....of management of an industrial concern shall be entitled to any compensation for the loss of office or for the premature termination, under this Act, of any contract of management entered into by him with such concern. (2) Nothing contained in sub-section (1) shall affect the right of any such managing or whole-time director, or any other director or manager or any such person in charge of management to recover from the industrial concern, moneys recoverable otherwise than by way of such compensation. Section 46 - Application of Act 1 of 1956 (1) Where the management of an industrial concern, being a company as defined in the Companies Act, 1956, is taken over by the Reconstruction Bank, then notwithstanding anything contained in the said Act or in the memorandum or articles of association of such concern,-- (a) it shall not be lawful for the shareholders of such concern or any other person to nominate or appoint any person to be a director of the concern; (b) no resolution passed at any meeting of the shareholders of such concern shall be given effect to unless approved by the Reconstruction Bank; (c) no proceeding for the winding up of such concern or for the.....

Family Courts Act 1984 Chapter III

(2) Subject to the other provisions of this Act, a Family Court shall also have and exercise-- (a) the jurisdiction exercisable by a Magistrate of the First Class under Chapter IX (relating to order for maintenance of wife, children and parents) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974); and (b) such other jurisdiction as may be conferred on it by any other enactment.
