Title: Compensation Pool for Purposes of Payment of Compensation and Rehabilitation Grants to Displaced Persons

Title: Payment of Compensation and Rehabilitation Grants to Displaced Persons

Title: Power to Make Schemes for Relief in Respect of Personal Injuries and Personal Service Injuries

(1) The Central Government may make a scheme or schemes in accordance with the provisions of this Act providing for the grant of relief in respect of the following injuries sustained during the period of the emergency, namely:-- (a) personal injuries sustained by gainfully occupied persons (with such exceptions, if any, as may be specified in the scheme) and by persons of such other classes as may be so specified; and (b) personal service injuries sustained by civil defence volunteers: 1[Provided that different schemes may be made in relation to different periods of emergency.] (2) A scheme may authorise the Central Government or any authority authorised by the Central Government to make payments under the scheme, in such circumstances and subject to such conditions as may be specified in the scheme, to make to or in respect of persons injured, diseased or disabled due to injuries or any disease-- (a) payments by way of temporary allowance, which shall be payable only so long as the person injured or diseased is incapacitated for work by the injury or disease and has not received any such payment as is mentioned in clause (b); (b) payments otherwise than by way of.....

.....Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Act, 1954. BE it enacted by parliament in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:--- 1. Short title This Act may be called the Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Amendment Act, 1959. 2. Amendment of section 30 Section 30 of the Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Act, 1954 (44 of 1954)., shall be re-numbered as sub-section (1) thereof, and after sub-section (1) as so re-numbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- "(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1) if the Chief Settlement Commissioner is of opinion that a person is refusing or neglecting, or has refused or neglected, to pay any sum due under this Act, he may, after giving such person an opportunity of being heard, by order in writing stating the grounds therefor, direct that the provisions of sub-section (1) shall not apply to him, and thereupon such person shall cease to be entitled to the exemption conferred by that sub-section.".

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Nineteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows : - 1. Short title This Act may be called the Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Amendment Act, 1968. 2. Insertion of new section 8A In the Displaced Persons (Compensation and Rehabilitation) Act, 1954 (44 of 1954) , after section 8, the following section shall be, and shall be deemed always to have been, inserted, namely :-- "8A.Payment compensation in cases of mortgaged properties.- (1) Where any compensation is payable to any displaced persons in lieu of property abandoned by him in West Pakistan which on the date of his migration from West Pakistan was subject to a mortgage in favour of a person who is not resident in India, the Settlement Commissioner shall, after giving a reasonable notice to the displaced person, determine the principal sum for which the property was so mortgaged and such portion of the principal sum so determined as bears the same proportion as the compensation payable to the.....
